0n the name o Allah
I have gone through this booklet 9Is ,A66 obligatory on

4awoodani. ,e has tried to present 7i<h rulings in a
uni<ue style. This is a new trend in =rdu language. ,e
has focused on following four points)
. To discuss the rulings which believers 7!&$,,)
'om $'&o""
". To use +&i!*,) ,$!7($7 spoken in daily life

4. To follow ,o7i'$, "0(!' 2i#ho(# 7##i!7 i!#o #h

There are always #erits and de#erits in innovations. 1o
is the case with this booklet. This booklet will be helpful
to #any brothers in faith in solving their proble#s but
since it explains the precautionary angle, can cause extra
physical and financial efforts. >enerally, Momineen refer
to rulings for their practical needs where details are not
always re<uired. This booklet will be the best assistant
on any such occasion. Actually the topic of ,a'' is so
vast and co#prehensive that it can not be covered in a
single booklet. Although, the author0s effort is
co##endable still few decrees have not been covered.
Therefore readers #ust take care that if their personal
proble# is different fro# the stated decree, they should
refer to the genuine 1lema in order to fulfill their exact
duty.

In the end, I pray for the acceptance of Agha
&uha##ad +a/a 4awoodani?s this effort and hope this
will please I#a#.e.@a#ana (A1.). &ay Allah grant hi#
further 2auee3 to work on other chapters of Fi3h in a
si#ilar fashion.

And co#plete the ,a'' or =#rah in the service of
Allah
(Al.5a<ara, %hapter C", Derse C EG)
SAYINGS OF HOLY PROPHET 5SAWW6
,adith C 8) *nce beca#e obligatory, whoever dies
without having perfor#ed ,a'' dies a 6ew
or a %hristian.
,adith C 8") If ,a'' beco#es obligatory on a person and
it is not perfor#ed, then heHshe will be
raised as a %hristian or 6ew on the 4ay of
6udg#ent.
,adith C 8$) -hen a person, on who# ,a'' beco#es
obligatory, co#pletes the ,a'' properly,
hisHher sins are forgiven such as if
heHshe is a !2,) 4o&! 'hi,*.
,adith C 84) -hen a person co#pletes a ,a''
properly, hisHher every prayer is
accepted +o& +o(& mo!#h".
IMPORTANCE OF HAJJ:
A#ong the practices, only H$// is the
worshipping act on which $ 'om%,# Chapter
is there i! 3(&$! on its na#e.
In Iuran, apart fro# Surah Hajj the topic of
,a'' has also been discussed in Surah Aal-e-
Imran and Surah-e-Baqarah.
,a'', even if reco##ended, cannot be left
inco#plete in the #iddle once started.
ATTENTION: *ther reco##ended worshipping acts
for exa#ple reco##ended fast can be
#ade void in the #iddle and there is no
sin in doing so but the case of ,a'' is
different.
In case all the conditions are fulfilled, ,a''
beco#es obligatory o!,) o!' in lifeti#e.
I ) -hat are those conditions:
A )
There are so#e 'ommo! 'o!*i#io!" which are
necessary for every worshipping act to beco#e
obligatory. They are four in nu#ber)
(i) life (ii) #aturity (iii) sanity
(iv) capability
There are few "%'i+i' 'o!*i#io!" that are related
only with the obligation of ,a''.
This obligatory ,a'' is generally called 9Hajjat-
ul-Islam;.
J*T() on the
co#pletion of theses
conditions a person
will be called
MUSTATEE #eans he has the capability to go onto
,a''.
It is not necessary to co#plete or get these
conditions co#pleted but if the conditions are
fulfilled by the#selves then going onto ,a'' will
beco#e obligatory.
A person goes for ,a'', even if the conditions
are not fulfilled, his ,a'' will be correct and he
will be rewarded too
5=T
*n co#pletion of conditions in the future he will
have to perfor# ,a'' again and this second ,a''
will be called his obligatory ,a''.
(KA&A!()
If an i##ature perfor#s ,a'' then his ,a'' will
be correct but this will not suffice for his
RESULT OF THE
COMPLETION OF
CONDITIONS)
,a'' beco#es obligatory.
*nce in life.
,ave to go the sa#e year.
If not perfor#ed,
co##itted a big sin but it
is necessary to perfor#
next year even if the
conditions have ended.
4id not go and is about to
die then it is necessary to
#ake Wi,, that ,a'' was
obligatory on #e.
obligatory ,a'' rather upon co#pletion of
conditions, after being #ature, he will have to
perfor# his obligatory ,a''.
ONCE IN A LIFETIME:
,a'' usually beco#es obligatory only once in a
lifeti#e but the case for nadr 9 mannat
5$4,$#io!6: qasam5o$#h6 $!* Ahad5%&omi"6 is
different.
(KA&A!()
If so#eone #akes an ablation that)
9I #ake ablation for Allah that I will go to
perfor# ,a'' if #y ill son gets well;
After attaining health it will be obligatory for
hi# to go for ,a'' co#pleting the ablation.
PASSPORT: 8ISA ETC;:
Iuestion ) *nce conditions are fulfilled, will it also
beco#e obligatory to ac<uire %$""%o&# $!*
<i"$:
Answer ) Les
Iuestion ) If 1audi Arabian e#bassy *o" !o# 7i< <i"$
then:
Answer ) ,a'' is not obligatory.
5ut
SECURITY OF THE WAY:
Iuestion ) Is the security of way also a condition:
If the 1audi e#bassy of any
other country agrees to
grant visa
And
It is also possible to reach
there and enough #oney
is available to reach.
Then it will
be
obligatory
to take visa
fro# there
and go for
,a''.
Answer ) Les it is necessary that the way to go for ,a''
and return is safe and there is no danger for
life.
If going alone is har#ful but to go with a
co#panion is safe then in the case of
having wealth, taking the co#panion along
will also beco#e obligatory.
In this case the obligatory ,a'' of the
co#panion will also be considered as
perfor#ed.
IMPORTANT POINT:
. If it is possible to take per#ission by
co##itting a "i! (such as saying a false at
so#e occasion or speaking a lie) and if that sin
is a lesser sin than the sin of not perfor#ing
obligatory ,a'' then it is necessary to co##it
that lesser sin in order to perfor# the obligatory
,a''.
NOTE: 7or details of this, contact U,m$.
". According to the Ahl.1unnat 5rotheren, a
wo#an is not allowed to go for ,a'' 2i#ho(# $

FEW DETAILS OF FINANCIAL CAPABLITY:
7ollowing @ %oi!#" are included in this)
A. ,e has expenses for to.and.fro travel to &akkah

4. ,is /o4 or the "o(&' o+ i!'om shall not end
because of this 'ourney of ,a''.
IMPORTANT POINT:
5eing financially capable does not #ean that he has
cash in hand or in bank rather if there is any other
arrange#ent then that will also suffice.
E-AMPLE >: DOWER MONEY 5MAHR
If the wo#an0s dower #oney is sufficient enough for
,a'' expenses and its pay#ent is also due then it is
obligatory for the wo#an to $". +o& #h *o2&
mo!) +&om h& h("4$!* and go for ,a''.
E-AMPLE ?: INHERITANCE
7ather has died and heritage is being distributed.
If the share of the inheritor is sufficient to perfor#
,a'' then it is obligatory for hi# to clai# his share
and go for ,a''. ,e can not surrender his share for
so#eone else.
E-AMPLE B: ORNAMENTS
If a wo#an has that #any orna#ents which can be
sold to perfor# ,a''.
Then it will be checked what is the $7 o+ #h
2om$!:
If that #any orna#ents are the re<uire#ent of her
age and they are in her daily use as well then there is
no proble#. 1elling orna#ents is not necessary and
,a'' is also not obligatory.
5ut if the wo#an has reached such an age that she
does not wear the# then it is necessary for her to sell
the# and go for ,a''.
In such a case, it is not allowed for her to give away
such orna#ents as a gift to anyone (for exa#ple her
daughter and daughter in law)
E-AMPLE @: E-TRA8AGANCE 5ISRA!6
(xtravagance is a#ong the m$/o& "i!".
,a'' can also beco#e obligatory on a person
spending his life with extravagance.
Iuestion ) -hat is #eant by extravagance (israa):
Answer )
Isla# per#its every individual to own
ite#s of his daily life such as dress, car,
ho#e and orna#ents etc. not only
according to his !* but according to his
"#$#(" 5shaan6.
5ut Isla# does not allow anyone in the
society to spend #ore then his "#$#("

Iuestion ) ,ow status (shaan) of a person is defined:
,ow can this be known:
Answer ) This is deter#ined by Cur"D. &eans opinion
of the #a'ority of people in the co##unity
in which that person is living will deter#ine
his status.
AN E-AMPLE FOR E-PLANATION:
>enerally in our society it is considered as
the "#$#(" of a *o'#o& to own a '$& although
he does not !* it.
HAJJ BEING OBLIGATORY IN CASE OF
E-TRA8AGANCE:
If a person has car, house or any other si#ilar ite#
that is beyond his "#$#(" and the difference is
enough to perfor# ,a'' then ,a'' is obligatory on
hi#.
,e should ",, those ite#s to #ake arrange#ents for
,a'' and buy car etc. according to his status fro# the
rest of the #oney.
IF SOMEONE GIFTS THE MONEY FOR
PERFORMING HAJJ THEN:
If so#eone gives #oney for perfor#ing ,a'' then it
is o4,i7$#o&) #o $''%# that.
E-AMPLE:
i. ,usband gifts the ,a'' expenses to his
wife.
ii.7ather gifts the ,a'' expenses to any of
his #ature child.
NOTE: In these exa#ples the ,a'' of the wife and
the child will be considered as obligatory
,a'' and hence their responsibility as far
as ,a'' is concerned will be fulfilled.
IF SOMEONE WANTS TO GI8E THE SAME
AMOUNT OF MONEY WITHOUT ANY
CONDITION:
If he has not put the condition of ,a'' then it is not
obligatory to take that a#ount
5=T
If it has been taken then going for ,a'' will beco#e
obligatory.
R'o<&) o+ Th Lo$! 5#ar$6 A!* H$//:
