B. Brief description on project background. (.i.e. problem context, rationale,
description of problem area, nature of challenge)

Solar thermal electricity technologies are understudy for more enhancements to
implement as an electricity generation technology and to establish and introduce it
into market. Every day , a very large of solar power is traveling to earth without a
utilizing it some is used by nature and the rest vanished. The idea of solar collectors is
to try to collect some of these unutilized solar rays and then use it to generate another
form of power that humans are interested in such as electricity. And since solar power
is free and green power, it considers one of the best choices as petroleums alternative
in electricity generation industry. Therefore , there is a demand to design a system to
collect solar power and transfer it into electricity using some processes which includes
transferring water into steam to generate electricity and that transformation shall be
occur via solar power .

Design of Solar-based steam electric power regenerator
C. Brief description of project objectives. (i.e. scope of proposal, constructs used,
limitations and significance)

1) To design a solar collector which is able to transform water into steam .
2) To develop a mechanism or sub-system to produce electricity using the steam.
And the output electricity should power a useful gaged.
3) To implement a prototype

D. Brief description of the system/model/design that will be used in this proposal.

The system main purpose is to generate electricity using solar power and steam
dynamics. This system collect solar power and then concentrate it in to a path where the
water flow in order to vapor the water and then direct it to turbine to generate rotary
motion to move the rotor inside the electrical generator to produce electricity .The
system consists of three main parts: solar collector, water boiler and a steam powered
electrical generator.

The solar collector collects the solar power and concentrates it into a particular space to
provide an amount of heat which is enough to turn water in the boiler into steam. A
parabolic trough will be used as a solar collector. It is a line concentrating type of solar
collection. where it will be covered by a reflective mirror in order to reflect the sun rays
falls into the through.
The Boiler is basically will be made of cooper tube which will be placed in the parabolic
through concentration line. There is two valves in the rube , one to pour water in and the
another to exit the steam out . The cooper tube can sustain the steam temperature and
pressure which is an average of 200 C and 150 psi.
The electrical generator will be attached to the turbine which powered by the steam
generated in the boiler.
The parabolic solar trough have one axis movement in order to truck the sun angle in
which the solar power is maximum for a higher radiation efficiency . The tracking
movement is done manually.
