Getting to know you

In not more than 250 words, please describe yourself as a person. What are your strengths and
areas of improvement? Describe any event / situation in your life which has impacted /
influenced you significantly.

I am inquisitive by nature and possess an insatiable thirst for knowledge and this helps
me to learn more and progress further. I also believe that there is no finishing line in the
race for excellence and that one should keep striving for improvement in whatever he or
she does. I am diligent, innovative and do not shirk from accepting challenges.
Throughout my academic career, I have consistently been among the top ranking students
in my class. The various extracurricular activities that I have been a part of, have
inculcated in me a willingness to accept responsibilities and work hard to carry them out.
These values have been strengthened further by an enlightening work experience at
Cognizant Technology Solutions and Sutherland Global Services. I believe carelessness
and laziness are my areas of improvement. I am learning to work with diligence and
persistence without being careless and lazy. I quit my first job in 2012 and got the next
one in 2013. The things which I learnt in my life after I quit my first job, have groomed
me as an individual to what I am now.
What is your single largest achievement so far? Why do you consider it to be your largest
achievement?

I have won several cash prizes, trophies and medals in Taekwondo competitions. But the
one which I feel proud of is the Double Promotion recognition which I received from
Park Jung Tae, Grand Master of Global Taekwondo Federation. I was promoted from
White Belt to Green Belt for my excellent performance in Belt grading test. I was the
only person to bag the double promotion award among 350 candidates in my district. This
double promotion recognition gave me the impetus to win much more medals and
trophies in Taekwondo competitions and I feel it is one of the significant achievements of
my life so far.
Have you ever adopted a non-traditional approach to manage a project / situation or to solve a
problem? Briefly describe the project / situation of the problem, the approach and the
outcome.
I worked as an IT Technical Consultant with Sutherland Global Services. My job is to resolve the
technical issue that the customer faces on his/her computer. Once a US customer was routed to
me for removing a deadly infection from her computer. She had no time and she wanted it to be
removed her laptop as soon as possible. The traditional method would have involved a complete
reinstallation of the operating system which I neglected as it would take a lot of time. Instead, I
chose the non- traditional approach of manually finding the infection entry in all her folders and
subfolders and removed all the malicious threats to perfection. I was able to remove all the bad
entries within 20 minutes which would have taken above 1 hour if I had chosen the traditional
approach. The customer was completely satisfied and she was happy that the issue was resolved
to the fullest of her satisfaction. She raved about my capabilities and technical knowledge to my
manager and I used the opportunity to sell two more products from my company which she was
happy to buy.

What are your personal goals in life? How would getting into Marico help you in your
journey towards your Personal Goals?

My career goal is to develop myself as a complete professional with high standards of

competence, ethics, thought leadership and as a responsible team manager who can
contribute significantly to the progress of the company. I would like to start with sales,
give my best to yield more revenues for the company and then move to marketing after
2-3 years, where I will able to employ my strategic ideas to innovate and develop
something new which serves good for the company as well as the society. I believe
getting into Marico would help me in achieving these personal goals.
