Florida Political Reporters Mitch Perry, Christine Sexton


Join Extensive Enterprises Media
Veteran Journalists will Contribute to SaintPetersBlog.com, Launch FloridaPolitics.com
St. Petersburg, Fla. Mitch Perry, one of Tampa Bays most respected political reporters,
joins health care journalism expert Christine Sexton as the newest members of Extensive
Enterprises Media (EEM).
EEM publishes the popular Sunburn daily political digest, as well as influential websites such as
SaintPetersBlog, Context Florida, Politics of Pot, and the soon-to-launch Florida Politics.
For the past five years, Perry was News and Politics Editor for Creative Loafing Tampa in
addition to hosting a weekly local news show on WMNF 88.5.
Perrys role at EEM will be to lead the expanding local coverage on SaintPetersBlog, as well as
provide his unique political blogging style to Florida Politics and other EEM assets.
A native of San Francisco, Perry began his reporting career at KPFA radio in Berkeley, CA.
After arriving in Florida in 2000, he worked as Assistant News Director at WMNF Tampa. In
2003, Perry produced, anchored and co-wrote the WMNF Evening News, a show focusing
heavily on local and state politics.
In 2009, Perry joined Creative Loafing to became News & Politics Editor, writing weekly feature
stories and daily blogs on local, state and national political news.
Among his writing and reporting duties, Perry moderated a number of debates (mayoral,
congressional, school board, judicial) and serves as host of the Last Call weekly talk radio show
on WMNF. Perry also received several awards and recognitions in his time in the Tampa Bay
area, including a Sunshine State Award for Best Political Commentary in 2013 and a joint
Association of Alternative Newsweeklies award for coverage of the 2012 RNC.

Christine Sexton is a correspondent whose work has appeared in Bloomberg, the New York
Times, the Associated Press, Florida Medical Business, the Florida Current and a range of trade
magazines. She is also president of TallahasseeReporters.com
Her specialty is healthcare and medical issue reporting, and will lead health care policy coverage
for Florida Politics.
