Riverside Mill, home of Devon Guild of Craftsmen, is the hub of contemporary crafts
culture in South West England. Our galleries, shop and caf in Bovey Tracey, Devon
are free admission and we welcome visitors 7 days a week throughout the year.
We are an educational charity and foster
creative endeavour at all ages and levels.
Our extensive outreach programme in
schools and colleges encourages innovative
ideas, development of skills and freedom
of expression. Professional development
support and access to opportunities fasttracks and guides new and emerging makers
into sustainable rewarding practices and
invigorates the creative economy of the
region.

order to deliver our education programme
and keep our exhibitions free to access.

Life, Loss and Laundry

Less than a mile from the
Devon Guild is Devon House,
which housed a large laundry

in Victorian and Edwardian
times. This exhibition,
developed by Jacqui Parkinson,
reflects the lives of the laundry
workers, and how washing,
patching and mending still
resonate through all our lives
as metaphors.
Meet the Maker
Saturday 1 February 2 - 4pm
Jacqui Parkinson will be in the
gallery to talk about her work
and the exhibition. Free,
drop-in event.

Mary Sumner (printmaker) and Jenny Southam (ceramicist) have been
working on a creative collaboration, each swopping craft disciplines
under the guidance of the other. The exhibition will aim to inform the
viewer how they have gone through the process of creation and hopes
to inspire others to step outside the particular constraints and traditions
of their chosen mediums.
