Scheme of Work – YEAR 11

This scheme of work is a guide for teachers teaching MA 5 classes, based mainly on
SEBD 5, Key Skills in Writing and Key Skills in Reading Comprehension and Summary
Writing. Teachers should feel free to change, modify, supplement and vary the content of
this scheme according to their students’ needs and abilities. The focus of each unit is
stated which will form the main objective for the unit. The essential genres of writing
outlined in the Form 5 outcomes have been targeted. If teachers choose to omit any
units, they should find ways to incorporate the writing genre of that unit into the course.
