WORLDS IN COLLISION
AND THE PROPHECIES OF REVELATION

We continue to be amazed at the book, Worlds
in Collision, by Immanuel Velikovsky. When
originally published in 1950, it stirred such a
firestorm of controversy that the world of
academia successfully moved on its first
publisher to have it banned from college
campuses. Why was this so? Even though he
was an agnostic at that time, Mr. Velikovsky had
handily proven the Scripture accounts of the
Exodus and Joshua’s longest day were not only
actual events, but he used the annals of world
history, as well as science, to show just how
overwhelming and cataclysmic those cosmically-
generated upheavals actually were! This writer
suspects one of the main reasons Worlds in
Collision was so opposed at that time is Mr.
Velikovsky not only openly confronted,
contradicted, and confounded many pet theories
which were then gaining momentum (or were
already popular), but he also provided much
credible evidence that Darwin’s theory of
evolution is just that: Only a theory. If historical
proof of the inspiration of the Scriptures is
provided from sources worldwide, then the
“educated” scientists must admit their gross error.
However, as we have seen over the past 60 years,
most leaders in the academic world are too proud
to admit their errors, and worse, they foolishly
use their “science”1 in useless attempts to
proclaim “there is no Elohim.”2
One of the major things brought out by the
writer of Worlds in Collision was his deduction
regarding the planet Venus. Specifically,
Velikovsky asserted that Venus must still be
“very hot.” While this was in total disagreement
with the opinions of the scientific community in
1946 (when the book was first written), and in
1950 (when the book was first published), Mr.

Velikovsky remained undaunted in his
convictions. And at that time, there was no
scientific means by which one could accurately
determine the surface temperature of Venus. The
prevailing notion was: Of all the planets in the
solar system, Venus was the most likely to have
an atmosphere and surface conditions like that of
the Earth!3
Although Velikovsky was fully
vindicated in the early 1960s – when the surface
temperature of Venus was first estimated to be
around 600 degrees 4 and later confirmed to be
some 800 degrees 5 Fahrenheit – few scientists
either recognized or lauded him for standing
alone for so long against the worldwide,
academic opinion then prevailing!
This was convenient amnesia on the part of so
many men who should have been quite willing to
write open, public apologies to Mr. Velikovsky.
Needless to say, there are many, many things
which will benefit and edify those who read his
amazing work.
Messianic believers must realize Velikovsky’s
book is still quite relevant in our days because
many of the plagues and judgments seen in the
days of the Exodus are once more predicted in the
fast-approaching heavenly wrath which is to
fulfill the prophecies of the Apocalypse!

• And Other Unnamed Plagues Will Come From
hwhy Through the Two Witnesses10
Yes! We anticipate that, in a time soon to come,
global catastrophes (quite similar to those which
came upon Egypt) will bring the final judgment
of hwhy on a world which is degenerating in
increasing rebellion against the immutable
Torah.11 While there has been much talk of
“Planet X” creating end time, apocalyptic
devastation, after recently rereading Worlds in
Collision, this writer posits it is highly plausible
that the scenarios seen in Velikovsky’s book are
still very real possibilities. This is why:
When atomic particles orbiting the nucleus of an
atom become energized, and their electrical
charge is changed, they are then capable of
“jumping” out of their orbits to revolutions which
are higher. A particle’s change in charge allows
it to jump from its present orbit to an orbit which
is farther from the nucleus. Hence, we suspect
this is also quite possible with the planets in their
orbits, and this may be at least one of the
scenarios which have occurred in our solar
system’s past history. At the present time, solar
activity continues on the upswing. This, we
believe, is the modern-day fulfillment of ancient,
Biblical prophecy.12 Only last week13 a magnetic
ripple occurred in the Sun sending out a large
CME14 into space. Should a CME of heretofore
undocumented magnitude explode off the Sun
towards Venus, and should that CME contain
massive amounts of electromagnetic energy, it
may be that Venus will become “supercharged”
and jump its orbit (or perhaps, it may even be
outright repelled by the Sun). After this occurs,

see man’s history on Earth has only just begun!

we anticipate the very real possibility that Venus
will be set on a collision course with our planet,
approaching the Earth once more, even as it did
in the days of Mosheh (Moses) and the Exodus.
And if a super-charged Sun does not precipitate
such an event, it is still quite reasonable to expect
a new (or current) cosmic sphere may play some
unforeseen role in dislodging Venus from its
present orbit, thus placing it on a collision course
with our planet. This would explain why the
plagues seen in the Book of Revelation are so
similar to those seen at the time of the Exodus.
And in contemplating these apparent similarities,
we were impressed to consider this possibility for
yet another reason:
When Venus approached Earth at the time of the
Exodus, it was a comet.15 Due to its visible tail,
the comet’s head (the “planet” proper) was seen
by many to be the head of a serpent and the long,
snake-like streaks behind it were seen as the
snake’s body. Many legends about the serpent
being defeated were spawned from what occurred
at this time.16 In the Messianic prophecies of the
End Times, it is predicted that eswhy will crush
the head of the Serpent.17 If Venus does, indeed,
approach the Earth once more, the electrical
discharge between the two planets18 will result in
much fire falling from heaven.19 However, it
may be that, on this occasion, the planet Venus
will somehow disintegrate—a literal and
figurative crushing of the serpent’s head. And the
planet’s “defeat” will be a type of Satan’s defeat
as the actual Serpent, the Devil, will then also be
cast down: He will be bound with a chain and
cast into the bottomless pit; there He will spend
1000 years in the abyss.20
Perhaps some of our readers will still think it
is incredible Venus could once more approach the

up, in prison during the 1000-year Millennium, is also the
clear fulfillment of an Isaiah prophecy. Isaiah 24:21-22
Earth and precipitate cataclysms which are
beyond description. Before drawing too hasty a
conclusion, we recommend a full reading of
Worlds in Collision and a comparison of the
plagues wrought at the hands of Mosheh and
Aaron (the two witnesses of hwhy in the days of
old21) with the plagues wrought by the two
witnesses in the Revelation.22 And we also cite
the wisdom of the one who was inspired to write
this over the world’s historical events:
That which has been is that which will be,
and that which has been done is that which will
be done, and there is nothing new under the Sun.
Ecclesiastes 1:9
This Scripture is a key to understanding many
things in the Word of hwhy, and it also helps us to
see and understand those things which must yet
come to pass as the Kingdom approaches.
Venus, however, has not been the only source
of devastating cataclysms across the face of our
planet: Mr. Velikovsky also wrote much about
the planet Mars.23 Based on his writings, we see
the very distinct possibility the planet Mars will
once more approach the Earth in these Last Days.
We say this because the prophecies of Revelation
record two, different stars falling from heaven.24
Velikovsky informs us Mars was known as the
“Sword-god,” and its previous approach towards
Earth resulted in wars the world over. Mars was
called “the sword-god” because of what occurred
to its atmosphere as the planet was observed

approaching other heavenly bodies in ancient
times: Its electrically-charged envelope reached
out towards its heavenly counterpart giving the
appearance of an actual sword. Hence, it is not
impossible that the approach of Mars towards the
Earth may well be the fulfillment of the Fourth
Horseman of the Apocalypse as this rider bears a
sword and brings war and bloodshed into all the
Earth.25 Not only so, when Mars previously
approached the Earth, its satellites were seen as
steeds/horses pulling the planet along behind it.26
Readers should keep all this in mind as they study
Worlds in Collision.
Along with The Biblical Flood and the Ice
Epoch, Velikovsky’s book, Worlds in Collision,
is easily among the most profound and
substantive books of our times. Like the former
title, Worlds in Collision, will also leave the
reader absolutely awestruck and rather
overwhelmed at the tremendous judgments of
hwhy and the great magnitude of those cataclysms
which occurred at the time of the Exodus. As Mr.
Velikovsky cites Scripture after Scripture, along
with historical annals worldwide, all those who
seek to better understand the Word of hwhy
should obtain and read this book.

The book under consideration will enlighten
readers in regard to the origins of classical stories
from historical paganism, and it even answers the
question: “What was it that led Yisrael to turn
aside to worship ‘the queen of heaven?’”
Most importantly, however, this book will give
readers a much better understanding of Scripture
and the apocalyptic, devastating judgments now
facing those who have continued in lawlessness,
