1 System class
1.1

How to login router for the first time

1. When the router first power on to do configuration and management, if the PC end has no

COM interface, cant login through router Console port, you can use Mini USB port to login
router.
1) PC has installed terminal emulator (such as Windows XP super terminal);
2) Get ready for MiniUSB cables.
3) The PC end has installed router deiver AR_MiniUSB_driver.zip, make the PC end can

find and identify AR.

Note Proceeding:
a. This driver only supports Windows XP/VISTA/7 operating system;

b. This driver could be downloaded in enterprise network technology forum;

How to configure telnet to login router

1. Configure router Telnet authentication mood is AAA certification

2. Configure telnet login user parameter, user name, passwords, level and others.

What is the router default bootrom password

When AR router system startup, pressCTRLB within 9 seconds, need to enter

password to enter into BOOTROM menu. The default password is huawei.

How to deal with forget console password.

1. Applicable products are AR1200&2200&3200 series;
2. When start press Ctrl+B to enter into bootrom (Password: huawei);
1) Modify the startup configuration file name;
a. Enter into the main menu, select 5 (file Manager) file manager, then select File System.
AR1200 series routers, select 1, Flash File System
AR2200&3200 series routers, select 2, SD1 File System
b. File System select 1, display file list, view configuration file name;
c. File System select 3, modify file name (use AR2200 SD1 File System as an example)

Enter your choice(1-5): 3

Please input the file name: vrpcfg.zip

How to clean empty the router configuration/recover default settings

1. The command lines method
In user view, execute reset saved-configuration, then just restart router.
After configured reset saved-configuration command, when restart device, select not save

the current configuration file.

The erase and reset information only can become effective after restart device, the current
configuration has not been changed.

2. Long press the Reset Key to restore the factory configuration, (this method only applies to
the AR150&200 series):
Long press the Reset Key on the device (over 5 seconds), can make the device restore to the
factory configuration.
This operation can make the device restart and the user can lose his user-defined
configuration information.

How to open or close the information center debug/log/ alarm and other
information
Open the function to display the debug/log/ alarm information that sent by terminal

information center.

3. AR G3 PoE characteristic
1) AR has no internal PoE power supply module, only supports an external PoE power
supply, default power is 100W.
2) Support Legacy power supply standard, and can supply power to the PD device that fall
short of Legacy standard
3) If the powered PD device has an external power supply, here AR and the device external
power supply do the power supply redundancy backup for the powered PD device.
4) Out supply power through the main control board Ethernet interface, the longest power
supply distance is 100m.

Two SIC slots can combined as a WSIC slot; Two WSIC slots can combined as a XSIC slot;
Two XSIC slots can combined as an EXSIC slot; slots can be combined, can not be split.

1.10 Whether the AR G3 boards and modules and others parts can support
hot swap
The modules of AR G3 all series routers that can be replaced individually, including boards,
power supply, fans, external SD card, all support hot swap.
In AR2200 series exclude AR2220 PRS type and DC-AC type AR2220 power supply
module can support hot swap, the fan internal cant be hot swapped;
AR2240 and AR3260 power supply module can support hot swap, and support duplicate
power supply backup (Note: DC, AC power supply can not be mixed insertion used ), the fan
module supports hot swap.
Whether the main control panel fixed interface and can configure IP address directly
1. The fixed GE interface of AR 1200&2200&3200 main control panel is a Layer 3 interface,
can directly configured IP address, and can configured backup IP address. Such as:

Which link types do the LAN side interfaces have
AR G3 LAN side interface default link type is Hybrid, and interface default join in VLAN 1,
so PVID is 1.

1.11 How to configure 1E1T1-M/2E1T1-M veneer and interface (E1 example)

1E1T1-M/2E1T1-M: two working modes (CE1/PRI mode; voice mode)
CE1/PRI mode operating is the E1-M veneer default data working mode, e1-data
Voice mode is the working mode when need E1-M to support voice capabilities, e1-voice

network protocol.

1.12 How to configure 1E1T1-F/2E1T1-F veneer interfaceE1 example

1E1T1-F/2E1T1-F: partly channelized E1 interface is the simplified version of CE1/PRI
interface
It only can use one channel to binding time slots. The two working modes: unframed mode
and framing mode.

the E1-F interface rate is n * 64Kbit / s (n is the number of bundled time slots), its logic features
same with synchronous serial, supports PPP, HDLC, Frame Relay data link layer protocols,
supports IP, IPX network protocols.

a) The commands to enter into the E1-F interface view and enter into the CE1/PRI interface
view are different. The command to enter CE1/PRI interface view is controller e1
interface-number; enter into the E1-F interface view is to enter into the corresponding
synchronous serial, the command is interface serial interface-number;
b) E1-F interface except clock mode, other parameters must be consistent to the peer end,
otherwise it could lead to a communication error

1.13 How to batch configure interfaces.

Use port group function can configure multiple ports at once, in order to reduce the workload,
including permanent ports group and temporary ports group.

1. The maximum number of the permanent ports group and temporary ports group that the
ARG3 router system supports is 32. Each ports group supports the maximum number of member
interfaces is 48;
2. Not allowed to add the E1-F interface and CE1/PRI interface to a temporary ports group;
3. The two interfaces that front and back of the keyword to must be in a same interface board
/ card, means the same type and properties interfaces.
