SPECIFIC COURSE INFORMATION


a. Course Description
The course covers basic principles and theories of semiconductor devices such as diodes and
transistors. It also deals with DC and AC analysis of bipolar junction and field effect transistors,
transistor amplifiers and switches. Focuses on the fundamentals of electronics and analysis of
networks.

SPECIFIC GOALS FOR THE COURSE
a. Course Objective
The course intends to provide students with the:
1. ability to utilize the fundamental theories of electronics into practical application.
2. skills in the analysis of diode, transistors, and amplifiers that must be reflected on a related
project.

b. Course Outcomes
By the end of the course, the students will be able to:
1. Discuss the construction, configurations, operations and applications of semiconductor
diodes and transistors.
2. Design a voltage regulated power supply.
3. Distinguish between classes of amplifiers.
4. Analyze the operation of BJT and FET of amplifier circuits.
5. Design a large signal amplifier circuit.
6. Reflect on personal transformation along the TIP graduate attributes.
