calculator.
b) Students will be able to use a help sheet for most quizzes and tests. It must be only one sheet of paper.

Assignments
1. Assignments will be given daily. It is expected that they will be done to the degree that the student can do it.
If there is difficulty doing the assignment, it will be expected that the student will come in during seminar
for help.
2. For the majority of the time the assignments will be graded.
3. Assignments will not be accepted late. They must be done on time.
4. If you can not do the problem in your head, then it expected that you show all of your work.
5. Some time will be given in class to begin your homework. It is expected that you will do that.
6. Each quarter you will be given a proficiency test. You will have 3 opportunities to pass it with a grade of 90% or
higher. This grade will be a quiz grade at the end of each quarter.

Behavior
Sleeping in class, excessive talking out of order, doing other work, etc. is not acceptable. If it happens frequently,
your parents and Mr. Harms will be notified. You MUST have your own calculator and book for class!

Absences
If you miss class, make sure you come in the next seminar to get the material you missed. If only one class period
is missed, you will be expected to be prepared for the next class. If you missed a test or quiz, you will be
expected to take it the next seminar. If an outstanding test or quiz is not completed within 2 weeks of being missed,
you will be given a zero for that exam. Extended absences will be dealt with on an individual basis.

Effort
It is expected that you give 100% effort in class. You will be expected to take notes, listen during presentations, and
work on your homework at the end of class when time is given to do so. If lack of listening and working on math
during class happens on a regular basis, a meeting will be set up with parents to determine your future status. NO
ONE will receive a semester “F” if 100% effort is given in class and in homework.

PowerSchool
Your grade will be posted on PowerSchool at least once a week. It is my goal to try to publish homework
assignments there after each class period.

What you can expect of me:

1) I will be fully prepared to give you information about algebra in an interesting way.
2) I will be available to help you in any way possible.
3) I will conduct our classes with Christ as the center of everything.
4) I will treat each person as a redeemed child of God with a valuable purpose in His kingdom.
