Vision
Athonet was founded based on the vision that mobile data
usage would increase dramatically creating a burden on mobile
operator networks that would affect the quality of consumer
and in particular mission-critical business services.
At Athonet we believe that "the software is the network" and
that mobile networks will be able to address growing capacity
and coverage needs only by distributing and virtualizing mobile
network functionality just as it is happening on the Internet and
in enterprise networks.
For this reason we believe that PriMo will be a key component
of next generation mobile infrastructure.

PriMo
PRIMO is a proven very high performance compact LTE and 3G
HSPA Core Network solution with WiFi support, fully integrated and
deployed with MacroCells, Femtocells, WiFi APs...

PRIMO's distributed architecture enables much higher performance

compared to existing centralised legacy systems.
Wireless BB connectivity: Downlink: 100 Mb/s, Uplink: 40Mb/s in LTE
Very low latencies (round-trip): 10-15ms in LTE, 40-50ms in HSPA.
High packet throughput using standard IT servers.
Direct Internet connection via Fiber, DSL, Cable, Ethernet, Satellite, etc.
Solves congestion in hotspots (bandwidth crunch).
Prioritized and fully controlled service including access & traffic routing
(Private Mobile) Network capacity can be shared between general public
and premium private traffic (public safety, enterprise etc.).

Distributed highly resilient mobile networks (2)

Athonet has developed a highly distributed and efficient
network that utilizes UMTS/HSPA and LTE broadband
cellular radio technology but evolves it to conform to a
"flat" architecture where all functionality is distributed to
the edge of the network.
Communication between mobile terminals and
enterprise/private services is completely handled locally
by a Mobility Gateway node, allowing higher effective bitrates and very low latencies but without creating
bottlenecks and utilizing scarce backhaul communication
resources.

Complete Standalone Mobile Network

The PRIMO Mobility Gateway implements the collapsed LTE

Enhanced Packet Core (EPC) functionality and UMTS/HSPA
Core Network functionality including policing control and
enforcement functionality.
The Mobility Gateway is packaged together with the UMTS,
HSPA, LTE, CDMA, WiFi base station component to form the
complete compact and optionally portable PRIMO system.
PRIMO is a fully standalone system that does not require
external nodes to be operational and fully managed.
