an increasingly compe ve global environment. Through a partnership with Exxon Mobil, The Exxon Mobil MENA
Scholarship Program provides selectstudentleadersfromtheregionwithafullyfundedscholarshiptowardsadegreeata
university in the United States. TheIraqi Scholars & Leaders Program provides Iraqi recipients with theopportunity to
pursuestudyataU.S.collegeoruniversity,developnewleadershipandculturalskills,andtobuildcloser esbetweenthe
peopleoftheU.S.andthefutureleadersofIraq.

Entrepreneurship. Funded by MEPI and administered by IIE in partnership with Endeavor Global and Injaz, LIFTOFF
encouragesaposi vepercep onofentrepreneurshipasacareerop onforyouthbetweentheagesof16and35inEgypt.
Overahundredstudentsaged1826havegraduatedfromtheintensiveEntrepreneurialLeadershipDiscoveryProgramand
over2,100boysandgirlshavea endedthevariousEntrepreneurshipDaytrainingsatpublicschoolsacrossGizaandCairo.

StudentandScholarExchange.IIEworkstopromotemutualunderstandingintheMENAregionthroughanumberofU.S.
governmentsponsoredexchangeprograms,includingtheFulbright Student and Scholar Programs,the Fulbright Foreign
Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program, the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, the Benjamin A. Gilman
Interna onal Scholarship Program and the Na onal Security Educa on Program. These programs have contributed
significantly to developing posi ve rela onships between the people of the U.S. and MENA countries. For example, the
FLTAprogramalonewelcomesover400languageteachingassistantseachyear,150ofwhomteachArabicatU.S.academic
ins tu ons.

Developing Global Universi es. In partnership with New York University (NYU), IIE provides unique, strategic global
outreach,screening,andrecruitmentservicestoiden fycandidatesforscholarshipstoa endNYUAbu Dhabi,NYUsnew
portalcampusintheUnitedArabEmirates.

Technology. With funding from the U.S. Department of State, TechWomen pairs women in Silicon Valley with their
counterpartsintheMENAregionforaprofessionalmentorshipandexchangeprogramatleadingtechnologycompanies.
TheU.S.DepartmentofStatesMiddleEastPartnershipIni a ve(MEPI)alsofundsEMediat, apublicprivatepartnership
whichprovidescu ngedgenewmediatrainingtoNGOsthroughouttheMENAregion.

RescuingScholars.TheScholar Rescue Fund (SRF) providesfellowshipsforestablishedscholarswhoselivesandworkare

threatenedintheirhomecountries.SRFlaunchedtheIraqScholarRescueProject,whichhasassistedmorethan200of
Iraqsmostseniorandthreatenedacademicsbyprovidingthemwithtemporaryacademicposi onsatuniversi es,colleges
andotherins tu onsofhigherlearningintheMENAregionandothercountries.

TheIns tuteofInterna onalEduca on(IIE)isaworldleaderininterna onaleduca onandexchange.Forover90years,IIEhasservedstudents,

scholarsandprofessionalsbyincreasingtheircapacitytothink,workandcompeteonagloballevel.IIEpridesitselfinmanagingadiversepor olioofprogramsanddeliveringexcellentservicesforpar cipants,sponsorsanddonors.TheIns tuteimplementsover250programseachyear
whichserve29,000individualsinmorethan175countriesworldwide.
