Strategy: Some of the strategies that I have found while looking through
the annual report of GlaxoSmithKline Bangladesh Limited.
Managing Director is responsible for overall management of the
company and directs all the long term strategy.
GSK are following the environmental sustainability strategy focusing on
carbon, water, waste and environmental stewardship, not just for their
own operations but also across their full value chain, from raw
materials to product disposal.
GSK have productive initiatives in place to recruit specialist and
leadership talent, and we maintain a robust leadership strategy to
identify and develop their highly skilled leadership group.
GSK focus on creating an inclusive, engaging environment that
empowers employees to continually contribute to the organization and
enables them to achieve their strategic business objectives.
GSK have a zero tolerance approach to bribery and corruption, set out
in their Preventing Corrupt Practices policy.
GSK has a Code of Conduct setting out the standards of ethics of the
corporation.
GSK has a very good marketing plan as they have select some top
cricketers as a brand ambassadors of their product.
GSK focuses its potential risk from many corners, like Legal and
Compliance matters, Environmental issues and more emphatically, the
Quality issues.
Summary: GSK is one of the leading pharmaceutical company in
Bangladesh. The main mission behind the company is to improve the quality
of human life by enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer. The
corporate office is in Dhaka while the factory is in Chittagong. They have

twelve distribution center throughout the country. GSKs green initiative are
driven throughout their organizations, ensuring long-term approach, where
these issues become a natural part of their works. GSK focus on creating an
inclusive, engaging environment that empowers employees to continually
contribute to the organization and enables them to achieve their strategic
business objectives. By working in partnership with others, by challenging the
way things are and by being prepared to change the way they do business,
they aim to find innovative solutions that create value for society as well as
their shareholders and allow them to be a successful, sustainable business.
To grow their business in a sustainable and responsible way, they focus on
the following areas: health for all, diversity, community work and ethical
conduct. For betterment of the company GSK have both external and internal

Strategy: Some of the strategies that I have found while looking through
the annual report of Square Pharmaceuticals Limited, Bangladesh.
The company places total emphasis on maintaining and improving of
quality of its products as 'life-science' biology following GMP standards.
The company is endeavoring to upgrade and adopt new technology in
production, quality control, distribution and administration of its
products to patients.
In order to improve productivity of human input, the company
continuously provide formal and informal training to the employees at
every echelon of operation and management.
Square has separate department to run the business smoothly such as
production dept., distribution dept., marketing dept. etc.

Summary: Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has been holding the first position
in Bangladesh pharmaceuticals market since 1985. Since the inception in 1958,
SPL has been thriving hard for achieving higher quality standard. SPL views
business as a means to the material and social wellbeing of the investors,
employees and the society at large, leading to accretion of wealth through
financial and moral gains as a part of the process of the human civilization.
Their Mission is to produce and provide quality & innovative healthcare relief
for people, maintain stringently ethical standard in business operation also
ensuring benefit to the shareholders, stakeholders and the society at large.
Yet again, the resent trend of globalization opened a new horizon of market
outside the country, which requires more quality features in products and
higher productivity. To gain higher productivity and quality SPL has been
providing training to its employees. Square strive, above all, for top quality
health care products at the least cost reaching the lowest rungs of the

economic class of people in the country. Owe to shareholders and strive for
protection of their capital as well as ensure highest return and growth of their
assets. Strive for best compensation to all the employees who constitute the
back-bone of the management and operational strength of the Company
through a pay-package composing salary/wages, allowances, bonus, profit
participation, leave salary and superannuation & retirement benefits.
