Lifestyle: A way of life or style of living that reflects the attitudes and values of a person or group.

Youth: Youth is best understood as a period of transition from the dependence of childhood to
adulthoods independence and awareness of our interdependence as members of a community. Youth
is a more fluid category than a fixed age-group.
However, age is the easiest way to define this group, particularly in relation to education and
employment. Therefore youth is often indicated as a person between the age where he/she may leave
compulsory education, and the age at which he/she finds his/her first employment. This latter age limit
has been increasing, as higher levels of unemployment and the cost of setting up an independent
household puts many young people into a prolonged period of dependency.

Youths in the bible:

Daniel and his Friends: Sought to obey God even as eunuchs in a foreign country, even refused wine
from the foreign land.
Samuel: He listened to God ever since he was little.

Joseph: Even through the tough times he relied on God to see him through.
Timothy: He was very young when he became a church leader. 1st Tim. 4: 12

Solomon rightly said "there is nothing new under the sun" issues being faced today are the same as
those that the youths in the bible days faced. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be
tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you
may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)
"Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth" (Ecc. 12: 1).
Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thine heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in
the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will
bring thee into judgement (Ecc. 11: 9).
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in
charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity (I Tim. 4: 12).

Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before
you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations. Then I said, Ah, Lord God!
Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth. But the Lord said to me, Do not say, I am
only a youth; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.
Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord. (Jeremiah 1:4-8)
How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. (Psalm 119:9)
So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on
the Lord from a pure heart. (2 Timothy 2:22)

The Basis.
Romans 12 vs 2 Do not conform yourselves to the standards (lifestyles) of this world.
1st Peter 2 vs 9 Says we are a chosen generation and a peculiar (different) people. Jesus
also said we are the light of the world (Mathew 5 vs 14-15).

Christians are not to just follow the things that are fashionable or cool according to
the world, but we are supposed to show the way because we are the light of the world.

Dressing
1st Peter 3 vs 3 - 4 should be used as a guideline, importance is placed on making sure the
inside man (spirit) is clean instead of the outside appearance.
1st Timothy 2 vs 9-10 the bible says girls/women should dress modestly and that their beauty
should be seen through their works.
Proverbs 7 vs 10 Says she was dressed as a prostitute intending to trap him. This means that
there are certain types of clothes that are worn by prostitutes mini skirts etc..

with the daughters of the land ( who were not Israelites / Christians).
