3G Optimization Scope and Regions
Ericsson RNC project is planning to have some of the 3G Optimization services from subcontractors for
MTN IRANCELL network including 3G drive testing and 3G DT post processing, analysis and reporting.
These activities will be in 4 provinces/cities as below:
Khuzestan Ahvaz: 5 DT activities
Esfahan Esfahan: 5 DT activities
Fars Shiraz: 5 DT activities
Hormozgan Bandar Abbas: 2 DT activities

Technical Descriptions
Ericsson is willing to have the following services from Subcontractors:
1- Drive test teams fully equipped
2- Drive Test post processing, Analysis and reporting ( by TEMS & Actix)

Drive Test Team scope

The drive test service required is team based. Each Drive test team needs to be fully equipped and each
team consists of below:
A driver and a car.

Experienced drive test engineer with enough experience on 3G field testing. (Ericsson RNC
project may evaluate the 3G DT engineers assigned by subcontractor)

LAPTOP with required specifications shall be used with uninterrupted power supply

TEMS Investigation Software Ver. 14 or above.

4 handsets with (3G+HSDPA+EUL capabilities) - (HSDPA Category should be category 15 or

above and EUL category must be 6 or above)

GPS.

SIM Cards for MTN IRANCELL (mandatory) and other operators SIMs (if required or requested
by Ericsson)

USB Hub will be used so that 4 UEs could be connected to avoid system halting.

Following UE/Scanner Configuration is required:

Handset/Scanner
UE1

UE2

UE3 with below capabilities:

UE should support HSDPA,EUL with max 4 E-DCH
codes, 15 HSDPA codes,16QAM, 64QAM
EUL category : 6 or above HSDPA category: 15 or
above

WCDMA Scanner

Description
Long speech calls (may be required to Lock to 3G if
requested by project team). UE would be normally
in dual mode (2G and 3G)
Short speech calls-60 seconds call, 15 seconds idle
(may be required to Lock to 3G if requested by
project team). UE would be normally in dual mode
(2G and 3G), possibility to handover to 2G if no
coverage in 3G. However, all calls should be started
in 3G (if coverage available.
Locked to 3G for HS/R99 test. FTP download and
Upload and ping( DL/UL throughput and delay
test). Test could be stationary or moving mobile as
per requirement of project team.
A script in TEMS will automatically generate the
packet session. The session will keep until finishing
the 5 GB download for HSDPA and will be reestablished again after completion.
HSDPA Test. Test could be stationary or moving
mobile as per requirement of project team.
Scanner Measurement. To be used for Best server
distribution, signal level (RSCP) and quality (EC/NO)
for 3G. The measurements will be taken with a
scanner in the frequency where Operator is
operating (2100 band)

Drive Test log file Post Processing

Log file post processing needs to be done by Service Provider, according to the templates which will be
shared by Ericsson RNC project team.
The Delivery of logfiles should be maximum after 24 hours of performing the DT.
