1.

How do you apply the process of science and the scientific method in solving daily life problems?
By the process of experimentation that is used to answer questions and explore observations
and proposing an hypothesis, testing it, and (re-)proposing a (new) hypothesis based on the data, and
testing that one ... and repeating.

2.

How do scientists formulate hypothesis?

By performing successfully the seven steps of scientific method that generates

testable hypothesis, and possible answer or solutions to problem raised, Some

scientists

make use of inductive and deductive reasoning in predicting the results.

3.

Why are experiments necessary?

To test and prove something to determine if reality is in agreement with the idea. An experiment is
repeated many times for the accuracy of it.

4.

How does the science process involve critical thinking?

Critical thinking can be described as the scientific method applied by ordinary people to the
ordinary world. This is true because critical thinking mimics the well-known method of scientific
investigation: a question is identified, an hypothesis formulated, relevant data sought and gathered,
the hypothesis is logically tested and evaluated, and reliable conclusions are drawn from the result.

5.

How are predictions made using the inductive and deductive method?
The deductive reasoning works from the "general" to the "specific". This is also called a "topdown" approach and the inductive reasoning works the other way, it works from observation (or
observations) works toward generalizations and theories. This is also called a bottom-up?
approach. It involves accepting a general idea to be a fact and then judging individual cases
according to the result of testing made.

6.

How does a theory differ from a principle?

The term theory has two broad sets of meanings, one used in the empirical sciences (both natural
and social) and the other used in philosophy, mathematics, logic, and across other fields in the
humanities while principle is an accepted or professed rule of action or conduct and also treated as
the fundamental, primary, or general law or truth from which others are derived.

7.

What are the limitations of science?

First science does not prove or disapprove the existence of God ruling life on earth. Second science
cannot guarantee quick solutions to troublesome problem and the last science is limited in its ability
to make moral or value judgment unless reflected on mans value and purposes.

8.

Is the development and progress of biology going very fast? How do you asses it?
Yes it is, for example health Industry Insights report examines the state of high-level systems
biology modeling adoption within the pharmaceutical industry, the progress and prospects for
modeling technology providers, and key applications for high-level modeling throughout drug
discovery and development. Access to high-level systems biology modeling enables researchers to
interactively leverage accumulated biological knowledge in the form of biological pathways and
systems and to rapidly characterize and predict drug effects and identify associated biomarkers.

9.

Does our country fall much behind in the field of biology and modern biotechnology? Support your
opinion.
In my own view our country is not much that far behind other leading countries in the field of
biotechnology, in recognizing the potentials of modern biotechnology, a responsive regulatory
system is needed in handling products of modern biotechnology. For example the DA issued
Administrative Order No. 8 (AO No. 8) governing the importation and release into the environment
of plants and plant products derived from the use of modern biotechnology.

10. Do you agree that biology education is important in your life? Why is it so?
The biological disciplines imply a significant responsibility for the protection and the welfare of
all the living species. The knowledge about the diversity of life forms and their conservationexploitation is greatly important for our day by day life.
