Situation in Poland - strenghts

Still looking for the best solutions and practices to
implement
Good specialists and many people who strongly believe in it
Advocacy on national level
New financial initiatives besides EU funds
Many great examples of changes
Big interest of the government in social entrepreneurship
Diversity in social entrepreneurship field
Increasing cooperation with business

Situation in Poland - weaknesses

Dependency on EU funds
Too much system, too less entrepreneurship
Complicated procedures and burocracy
Only few social entreprises are able to act
independently on the market
Many social entreprises fall down quickly
especially social cooperatives
Lack of accurate measuring tools

"The social economy is not only the result of

legal resolutions and acts. It is not only a
question of social awareness, though public
support is very significant. The social economy is
a social movement that should lead to a new
vision for Polands development. The social
economy is a way of involving the third sector in
Polands economic development" - Jerzy
Hausner, former Minister of Labor and Social
Policy and former Vice-Premier.
