Introduction
Haier, founded in Qingdao China in 1984 as Qingdao Refrigerator Co. They started with refrigerators and
now they are a leading multinational consumer electronics and home appliances company. Germanys
refrigerator company Liebherr had a joint-venture contract with Qingdao Refrigerator Co. Liebherr
started its contribution by providing technology and equipment to its Chinese partners. The German
equipment was then installed and refrigerators were manufactured under the name Qingdao-Liebherr. The
name Qingdao-Liebherr was changed to the Haier in 1992, which is companys current name.

History
Haier is one of the largest home appliances company and positions in Chinas top 100 IT companies.
Haier consist of 240 subsidiary companies and 30 design centers and more than 50,000 employees. It is a
research based manufacturing industry. Haier focuses on understanding consumer requirements and
produce products to fulfill their requirements.
Haier has fashioned itself into a global company that maintains a solid focus on local management and
production. Haier-Pakistan started in early year of this millennium. It is a great evidence of Pak-China
relationship. In Pakistan, Haier is working with a commitment to help its customers to provide them with
benefits of modern lifestyle and unmatched nationwide customer support. In Pakistan Haier has 1000
sales outlets, 15 large experience workshops, 305 exclusive shops, 17 service centers, more than 120
service outlets, a call service centre had been established beside the improved marketing network too.

Achieved No 1 market share in compact refrigerators

Recognized for key achievements for reducing the environmental impact of 2008 Olympic
Games in Beijing.

2009

Euromoniter International recognized Haier as No 1 appliance brand

2010

Launched full energy star qualified stainless steel tub Dishwasher line.

2011

Haier Volunteers program launched with Food Bank for New York City.

2011

Smarter Life Better Planet corporate social responsibility program launched.

2012

Haier acquired Fisher & Paykel. Haier acquired SANYO Electrics refrigerator, washing
machine and other consumer electric appliances business in Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the
Philippines and Vietnam

2013

Established a Research & Development Center in Camden and South Carolina
