Thank you for your e-mail and your enquiry about Petroleum Experts software and whether we
offer any special arrangements to Universities/Colleges.

Petroleum Experts develops and commercialises petroleum engineering software programs for
the oil industry. Our company was set up in 1990 and we currently have six commercial
products: PROSPER, GAP, PVTP, MBAL, REVEAL, RESOLVE as well as a network licensing
system, HARDLOCK.

With regards to the special arrangements we offer educational institutions, these are:

We will provide free of charge:

Up to 10 sets of Petroleum Experts suite of programs. That will mean 10 licenses each
of: PROSPER, GAP, PVTP, MBAL, REVEAL & RESOLVE, as well as
a license of HARDLOCK, a Network licensing system to run the software off the
network-(any existing standalone bitlocks which your University/College may already
have must be returned to Petroleum Experts), plus,
free software upgrades

This is on the understanding that the University receiving the licenses agrees to publicise,
in the public domain and throughout the University, on all types of Media, that Petroleum
Experts has donated the equivalent of US$1,934,750.00 dollars to the University.

The software will be licensed exclusively for teaching and tutorial purposes and must not
be used for commercial profit. Should your institution envisage the software being used for
any money generating purposes, then please contact Petroleum Experts to seek information on
the commercial options. Furthermore, the software licenses are to be assigned to a Network
Licensing system developed and commercialized by Petroleum Experts, called HARDLOCK.
The HARDLOCK system must be installed in the Universitys IT network system and access to
the software must be gained through this network IT. No remote access from outside the
premises of the Licensee is authorized. Under no circumstances can the HARDLOCK device
be used as standalone licenses.

If your organisation would like to take up on the offer, please let us know and we will arrange for
an educational agreement to be sent for signature. Once this is set up, we will forward the
software package.

Included in the package you will receive a HARDLOCK bitlock. This bitlock is sent inactivated
and once received/installed you will require to request activation codes from Petroleum Experts.
Access codes will be given until the 15th of December and will be renewed each year upon
written request by you.
In the case that a bitlock either active and/or inactive is misplaced and requires to be replaced
there may be charges attached.
