School Liaison Coordinator (SLC3483)


Salary: 20,000 - 25,000 per annum
Based: Greater Manchester SkillCentre and Across Greater Manchester

Skills and Work Solutions are recruiting a School Liaison Coordinator to develop, manage and deliver school liaison within
Greater Manchester, focusing on increasing awareness and understanding of the engineering and manufacturing sector.
.

The duties of the job include:

Promoting awareness and understanding of Engineering Futures provision to students, parents, carers and teachers within
Greater Manchester through a programme of school presentations and events
Creating and managing the delivery of a school events calendar, co-ordinating staffing, event materials and equipment
within the partnership, to increase the volume and improve the quality of young people entering Apprenticeships within the
engineering and manufacturing sector
Developing appropriate strategies and campaigns that improves and promotes the image of the engineering and
manufacturing sector
Interacting as the lead role in school meetings with Heads of Department; plan agendas, share reports and plans, to support
the development of the Engineering Futures business plan
Providing support for schools, colleges and employers to come together, to achieve mutually beneficial outputs such as
effectively promoting the sector and the career potential, resulting in more young people gaining employment in the sector
Working with the partnerships Marketing & School Liaison Work Stream, PR Officer, Web Master and other marketing staff
to ensure effective promotion of events across all platforms
Developing relationships and partnership opportunities with key schools and employers within Greater Manchester,
maximising opportunities for bespoke school events, to include taster sessions, tours, progress days, and take responsibility
for the effective delivery of these
Producing periodic management information as required by the partnership and manager
Representing Engineering Futures at a range of external meetings

We would like to hear from you if you have/are:

Experience within similar role.


Knowledge of developing and promoting education, training and industry collaboration, preferably in the engineering and
manufacturing sector
An understanding of the engineering and manufacturing sector and skills development issues in the sector
Excellent knowledge and experience of school liaison methods that bring about the increased take up of services
An understanding of the FE sector, the FE curriculum, and the educational needs of young people
The ability to influence others at a range of levels
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Possess excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads and manage resources
Copy-writing and proof reading skills and experience writing for different audience groups
A wide range of experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external partners
to achieve targets, improve communications, identify and maximise opportunities in a customer focused environment
Experience of managing events supporting both external events representing an organisation and planning and ensuring
effective delivery of internal events
Experience of managing multiple projects and utilising key resources, showing deadlines were met and excellent customer
service provided
