Steam quality

Wide spectrum of in- and outbound steam pressure parameters in particular in the wet steam
area below the saturation curve.
Fast reaction times to fluctuating unstabile steam parameters. Flexible towards constantly
changing inbound pressure parameters. Down to 85% a setback of inbound steam quantity electric
output is linear.
The non-blade bristle turbine operates with dirty steam containing flying particles, fibers. Steam
containing bases and acids -no problem.

Start-up
Philosophy

Usually operates only with superheated dry steam since the

Reagular steam turbines are not capable of adopting
constantly changing unstabile pressure and quantity
parameters of steam.
Operates only with clean dry steam.

Non Blades Bristles

Technology

Patented design is based on the substitution of turbine blades with system of bristles.
Material of bristles, their cross-section, shape and density are precisely defined .
Multiple tangential input of working medium on the turbine bristles is optimized by the system of nozzles
that enable optimal conversion of kinetic energy of working medium to the force with efficiency of 95%.
Kinetic energy of the working medium is absorbed in the inlet- into the turbine circuit so that for
example, at outlet velocity of 800m/sec of the steam from the nozzles, its energy is completely absorbed
at 80mm of the length of perimeter of the turbine wheel.
Outlet of the working medium is on Archimedean spiral from the center of the turbine.
Condensate removal is solved by separate sub-circuit in the bottom of the turbine.

view of thermal, electrical and mechanical parts. It is the real total efficiency of the
module.
When the turbine operates at the level of designed flow of media from the jet the
module efficiency may exceed 55%
Generator efficiency: 93-95%
Mechanical efficiency: 94%
Efficient alteration of velocity head: 95%
Total Mechanical efficiency: 94%

Control of the S2E operation

Description:

The whole S2E device is designed as unattended, with the exception of S2E cold state (cold start). The
control system manages automatic operation including start-up of S2E of warm state (warm start), shutdown
and control potential safety and emergency shutdown of S2E and putting into a safe condition.
The control system is furnished with an operating panel (OP) that extends the capabilities of
monitoring, diagnostics and parameterization S2E and control system and increases the comfort for the
operator.
All the control functions are not available without appropriate authorization.
The complete set of the system parameters (provided by the service organization) provide a secure
automatic and manual operation of the S2E units.
All manual switches are controlled by the control system. In the case of any unproper instruction is given
manually by the operator, the control system defends the S2E module by the safe shut down in order to
avoid any demages.
Manual operation is intended primarily for service purposes.

S2E CONTROL AND REGULATION PRINCIPLES

Steam turbine is controlled by programmable logical controller (PLC) SIMATIC produced by Siemens.
Controlling system regulates inlet of steam by elevation of control valve, which is controlled pneumatically
and is capable of emergency close.
This Control system:
controls the control valve in order to keep required (regulated) values
controls connection of generator: to network and disconnection from network by main switch, which is
controlled by motor drive, provides for oil management and air management.
Control system has following main functions:
Pressure regulation of steam behind steam turbine by control valve
Regulation of output electric power of generator by control valve
Speed regulation of steam turbine by control valve
Manage the automatic cooling, lubrication of the bearings by oil pump and cooling of oil vent with
adjustable speed - based on requested temperature of oil
Measurement of operation values and all outher output values
Synchronization of steam turbine to nominal speed and safe connection to network, or disconnection
from network
Manages any safe shut-down of steam turbine in case of malfunction or emergency state
Signalization of errors and warnings
Emergency shut-down of steam turbine in case:
overload of maximal speed
overload of maximal current, voltage, power
activation of emergency button
error on sensors providing for regulation and controlling of critical values
