    1989 brought a turn in the world, in the region and in Hungary. Under the new circumstances the international relations changed and the societies transformed. The 20th anniversary gives a chance for evaluation and drawing up the balance. How do history and social sciences see the recent past and the present? Our aim with this program is to give a scientific and at the same time critical reading of the last two decades of the country and the region, which is – as we believe – essential to be able to think about the future with responsibility and to develop an effectual national vision.
