Foreign / NRI / PIO / OCI candidates seeking admission to the PG Programmes will have to
obtain registration from the Medical Council of India. Any candidate who has obtained, MBBS
Degree from any recognised Medical College in India under NRI Category will not be
considered under regular catagory for Post Graduate course even if he possesses recognised
MBBS degree from an Indian University.
3.
The candidate must have passed MBBS examination from any Medical College recognised by
the Medical Council of India.
4.
The candidate should have completed the compulsory rotating internship on or before
30th April, 2015. He / She will have to produce a certificate of completion of internship
before joining the programme.
5.
The candidate should have a permanent registration with any State Medical Council in India or
Medical Council of India. If he / she does not have the same, he / she will be required to obtain
such registration within one month after admission to the PG Programme failing which his / her
admission to PG Programme will automatically get cancelled.
6.
For Admission to Post Graduate Medical Courses the candidate must secure minimum 50
percent marks and candidate belonging to SC/ST category minimum 40 percent marks in the
MEDPET-2015.
7.
If a candidate does not fulfill any or all of the above requirements or fails to pay the fees at the
time of counselling and admission or does not fulfill any of the eligibility criterion, he / she will
not be considered eligible for admission irrespective of his / her appearing for MEDPET 2015
examination and securing a rank in the merit list.
8.
The candidates possessing Diploma qualification in the same subject recognised by the
Medical Council of India are eligible for exemption of 1st year of the 3 year residency (PostGraduation Period) in the same subject.
9.
Before joining the Post-Graduate Course if. Govt. of India or any other competent authority
makes it mandatory to complete "One years Rural Posting" it will a binding on the candidates.
The University shall not be responsible for any resultant changes in the admission process.

The status of University was given to a cluster of these colleges and institutes in
appreciation of the high level of their academic excellence and for their potential for
further growth.
During the last 19 years or so, the University has achieved higher pinnacles of
academic excellence and has established its reputation to such an extent that it
attracts students not only from various parts of India but also from abroad.
According to a survey conducted by Association of Indian Universities, this University
is one among the top ten Universities in the country preferred by the overseas students
for admissions. At present, there are more than 750 overseas students from 47
countries on the rolls of constituent units of this University.
During the last 19 years, there has been tremendous academic expansion of the
University. It now conducts in all 305 courses in its constituent units, of them 108 are
Post Graduate, 45 are Under Graduate and 55 Diploma level courses. 12
Fellowship and 5 certificate courses. All the professional courses which the University
conducts such as those of Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering etc., have approval of the
respective statutory councils, viz., Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India,
All India Council for Technical Education etc.
The University is a throbbing center of research activities and has launched Ph.D.
programmes in 77 subjects and M.Phil in 3 subjects. It has also introduced quite few
innovative academic programmes such as Masters in Clinical Optometry, M.Tech. in
Nano Technology etc.
The University's performance and achievements were assessed by the "National
Assessment and Accreditation Council" and it was reaccredited with a prestigious "A"
grade in 2011. Some programmes of the constituent units such as College of
Engineering at Pune, Management Institute in Delhi and others have also been
accredited by "National Board of Accreditation". Three constituent units of Bharati
Vidyapeeth Deemed University are also the recipients of ISO 9001-2001
certifications.

fellowship programs, M.Sc. program in Basic Sciences and Ph.D. program.
The college as a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune was accredidated "A" grade by
NAAC in 2004, & reaccredited again with coveted A grade in 2011.
The college boasts of excellent infrastructure, experienced, dedicated and caring faculty, a strong student
support system, facilities for research including a dedicated research institute, community outreach and
extension activities and a 860 bedded multispeciality, tertiary care hospital offering all the modern diagnostic
and therapeutic services, which also serves as a teaching and training centre for undergraduate and
postgraduate medical students. The hospital offers comprehensive patient care services at grossly subsidized
cost or at no cost.
The hospital has recently started a cardiac cath lab and is offering the services for angiography,
angioplasty and other interventional cardiology facilities. The hospital has further expanded the critical care
services, started a nephrology unit with 16 dialysis machines and has all the diagnostic and therapeutic
facilities. It has a well equipped central clinical laboratory, high end CT Scan, MRI Machines, 4D ultra
sonography, color doppler and other equipments. All the super-specialty services are available in the hospital
and specialty facilities like Oncosurgery, joint replacement, neurosurgery etc. are offered by experts in the field.
All other facilities like 24 hours emergency services, blood bank, pharmacy etc. are available in the hospital.

Introduction
There will be a common All India Entrance Test for Admission to Medical College, Pune & Medical
College, Sangli for MD/MS course of three years duration and Diploma course of two years duration.

Management Seats :
Out of the seats sanctioned by the Medical Council of India, for the PG programmes to these colleges,
50% of seats are reserved for Management Merit seats. The candidates seeking admissions to these courses on
the seats of this category need to purchase the CET Brochure of the University and will also have to apply
separately on a prescribed application form. All the Indian students seeking admission on the seats of this
category will have to appear for MEDPET 2015 along with regular students. The completed form should be
submitted to the Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune. The last date for the submission of
application form for the students seeking admissions on the seats of this category is 10th January 2015

Admission Procedure
1.
The Admissions to M.D./M.S. and Diploma courses to Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical
College, Pune and Sangli will be made on the basis of merit obtained by the candidate in medical post
graduate entrance test i.e. MEDPET-2015. For Admission to Post Graduate Medical Courses the
candidate must secure minimum 50 percent marks and candidate belonging to SC/ST category
minimum 40 percent marks in the MEDPET-2015.
In case of candidates having equal marks in MEDPET-2015 the following procedure shall be adopted as
a tie-breaker.
(1)
First preference to the candidates on the basis of higher marks obtained in the III M.B.B.S.
examination.
(2)
In case of equal marks in the (1) above, preference will be decided on grand total of marks secured
by the candidate at I, II and III M.B.B.S. examinations.
(3)
If equal, preference shall be decided on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidate at the
XII Std. examination in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects taken together.
(4)
If equal, preference shall be decided on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidate in the X
Std. examination.
2.
MEDPET-2015 will be conducted at the centers in Pune, New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Sangli, Hyderabad
and Vadodara at the addresses given on cover 3.
3.
The question paper of MEDPET-2015 will contain 200 multiple choice questions of, one best choice
type, out of 4 choices. The questions will be on the syllabi prescribed for the I, II and III M.B.B.S.
examinations, with more weightage given to clinical subjects. Each correct answer will get 3 marks. There
will be no negative marking. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.
Application Procedure
A candidate desirous of applying for MEDPET-2015, is required to complete the prescribed form
appended at the end of this Brochure. The same must reach Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University,
C.E.T. Centre, Second Floor, Bharati Vidyapeeth Bhavan, L.B.S. Marg, Pune 411 030 on or before the date of
submission mentioned in the calender of event (cover 3).
All candidates are required to enclose the self attested photocopies of the following documents.
i)
Statement of marks of I, II and III MBBS examinations.
ii)
If the candidate is employed, he should submit 'No Objection Certificate' from the employer.

Certificate from the Dean / Principal of the Medical College of the candidate stating, that the College is
recognised by the Medical Council of India.
OVERWRITING, CUTTINGS, ERASING IN ANY OF THE FORMS MAY LEAD TO REJECTION OF FORMS
AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED. ANY DISCREPANCIES IN THE STATEMENT AND / OR THE SUBMISSION OF
INCOMPLETE FORMS WILL LEAD TO REJECTION OF APPLICATION / CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION.

Circles in the application should be filled up by darkening the inside area fully leaving no white space
within. If a circle is wrongly darkened, it should be completely erased.
C)
Squares provided in the application forms are only for writing alphabets in capitals for indicating names,
address etc. or appropriate numbers. The edge of the block must not be touched by the alphabet or
number.

Photograph : A recent passport size photograph should be affixed at the appropriate place in the
application form. The photograph should be firmly affixed by using gum and should not be stapled. The
photograph should be attested by the Dean/Head of the Institution or by a Gazetted Officer. Care should
be taken to see the attestation is done at the bottom part of the photograph and the photograph is not
defaced.

Instructions To Candidates
Conduct of the MEDPET

1.
The Test will be conducted at Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, Pune-Satara
Road, Pune - 411 043, and on the addresses of the respective centres given on page no. cover 3. The
candidate must report at the centre atleast 60 minutes before the time of commencement of
examination.
2.
THE EXAMINATION HALL WILL BE OPENED 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE
TEST. CANDIDATES ARE EXPECTED TO TAKE THEIR SEATS 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE
COMMENCEMENT OF THE EXAMINATION. IF THE CANDIDATES DO NOT REPORT IN TIME THEY
ARE LIKELY TO MISS SOME OF THE GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO BE ANNOUNCED IN THE
EXAMINATION HALL.
3.
A candidate who comes late by 30 minutes or more after the commencement of the examination will not
be permitted to appear for the examination.
4.
The candidate must show, on demand, the Admission Card for admission to the examination hall. A
candidate who does not possess the Admission Card issued by the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed
university, Pune will not be admitted to the examination hall under any circumstances by the centre
Superintendent.
5.
A candidate will not be allowed to carry any textual material, printed or written, bits of papers or any
other material except the Admission Card inside the examination hall. Candidates will not be permitted
to bring calculators, slide rules, clerk tables, electronic watches with facilities of calculators, laptop
computers, mobile phones, personal stereo systems, walkie-talkie sets, paging devices and any other
object/device that is likely to be of unfair assistance.
6.
No candidate, will be allowed to go outside the examination hall till the completion of the entire duration
of examination. Once the candidate leaves the room (even if only to answer a call of nature) he/she will
not be readmitted under any circumstances.
7.
Candidates are advised to bring with them a card board or a clip board, on which nothing should be
written, so that they have no difficulty in writing responses in the answer sheet even if the tables provided
in the examination hall do not have smooth surface. They must have their own ball pens, blue or black
and erasers of good quality.
8.
Smoking in the examination centre is strictly prohibited. Beverages or snacks of any kind are not allowed
to be taken into the examination halls during examination hours.
9.
Candidates shall maintain perfect silence and attend to their papers only.
Any conversation or
gesticulation or disturbance in the examination hall shall be deemed as misbehaviour and if a candidate
is found using unfair means or impersonation, his/her candidature will be cancelled and he/she will be
liable to be debarred for taking examination either permanently or for a specified period according to
the nature of offence.
10.
During the examination time, the Invigilator will check the Admission Card of the candidates to satisfy
himself/herself about the identity of each candidate. The invigilator will also put his/her signature in the
place provided in the Answer Sheet on SIDE-1.
11.
After completing the test and before handing over the Test Booklet and the Answer Sheet to the invigilator,
the candidate should check again that all the particulars required in the Test Booklet and the Answer
Sheet have been correctly written. Ensure that the Roll Number, is correctly written in the answer sheet.
12.
A warning bell will be given at the beginning of the examination and at the half-time. A warning bell will
also be given before the closing time when the candidate must stop marking the responses.
The examination will be of 3 hours duration and will consist of one question paper of 600 marks,
consisting of 200 questions.
14. The test is objective type. The candidate will be provided with a sealed Test Booklet and an answer sheet.
The candidate will write with ball point pen the required information regarding: Name and Roll Number
on the Test Booklet and on the answer sheet.
15.
In the Test Booklet, there will be 200 questions serially numbered from 001 to 200. Each question will be
followed by four responses marked (A), (B), (C) and (D). Of these four responses only one will be the
correct or the most appropriate response. Each correct answer will get 3 marks. There is no negative
marking. No marks will be deducted for not answered questions.
A specimen copy of the answer sheet is given with this brochure. Candidates are advised to go through it
and be conversant with the requirement of giving particulars and marking the answers so that during the
examination they could do so without any difficulty, mistake or loss of time.

The answer sheet used will be of special type which will be scanned on Optical Scanner. There will be two
sides of the answer sheet.

Side 1 - This side of the answer sheet begins with instructions for marking the responses. The
following are then to be filled in with a blue or black ball point pen only, neatly and accurately:

Side-2 : This side is to be used for marking responses to questions numbered 001 to 200. After
every question number, four boxes numbered (A), (B), (C) and (D) are provided.
The candidate must indicate his/her response to the question by darkening the appropriate box
completely. For example :

The candidates are advised to decide about the answer before they mark it on the answer sheet. He must
ensure that the box is completely darkened with pencil or blue of black ball point pen only. A lightly or
faintly darkened box will be treated as a wrong method of marking and will be rejected by the Optical
Scanner.
19.
If the candidate does not want to attempt any question he should not touch any box given against that
question.
20.
The candidate must ensure that the answer sheet is not folded. He should not make any stray marks on it.
Changing an answer :
21.
If a candidate wants to change any answer on the answer sheet, he/she must completely erase the
existing pen or pencil mark and then darken the appropriate box. Candidate must not leave any visible
mark after erasing, otherwise the response will be treated as wrong.
The candidate must bring his own materials such as blue or black ball point pens or pencil. The
candidate must also bring own erasers (of good quality). He will have to ensure that no mark is visible
after erasing any response.
USE PENCIL OR BLUE OR BLACK BALL POINT PEN ONLY TO DARKEN THE APPROPRIATE BOX.
MARK SHOULD BE DARK AND SHOULD COMPLETELY FILL THE BOX.

Rough Work :
28.
The candidate will not do any rough work or writing work on the answer sheet. All rough work is to be
done in the Test Booklet itself.
Merit List :
29.
The University will declare a common merit list for both the colleges.
Separate merit lists of Regular Merit and Management Merit Category of the candidates shall be displayed
at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, Pune-Satara Road, Pune - 411 043. and at
offices of Bharati Vidyapeeth University at Pune, Mumbai & Delhi and also will be available on website at
www.bvuniversity.edu.in. on the date which will be decided by the university office. Reasonable
number of candidates in accordance with the merit will be informed and called for counselling.

a)
Please note that the admissions will be done strictly on the basis of merit and on the availability of seats in
Medical College at PUNE and SANGLI as declared on pages 15 & 16 in the brouchure.
b)
The counselling and on-the-spot admission session will be held at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed
University Medical College, Pune-Satara Road, Pune-411 043 on the date and time communicated
individually to the candidates as per the merit list. Only the candidates who have received communication
should attend counselling on specified date & time.
c)
Only the candidate and one parent/guardian will be allowed into the hall where counselling is held. The
candidates will be called in the order of their merit and offered the seats available at that point in time. The
candidate will be permitted to choose any of the seats available when his/her turn comes.
d)
When all the seats in a given course are filled, admission of students to that course will instantaneously
cease and Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University will not be responsible for non-availability of the seats
and non-allotment to the rest of the candidates.
e)
At the time of reporting for the counselling, the candidate is required to produce the documents (original
and two sets of photocopies) listed in above application procedure. If the candidate is admitted to any of
the courses, these documents will be retained by the University till he/she completes the course. If the
candidate fails to produce the documents listed in Annexure-I, he/she will instantaneously forfeit his claim
for a seat.
f)
Physical presence of the candidate at the counselling is mandatory. The choice of course made by the
candidate is final and binding and will not be altered later under any circumstances.
g)
If any candidate finds it impossible to be physically present for the counselling due to unavoidable
circumstances, he/she may authorise any other responsible individual to represent him/her at the
counselling. This representative must carry with him/her the letter of authorisation in the format given in
Annexure II and all the documents mentioned in Annexure-I. If the candidate or his representative fails to
report for the counselling on the date and the time mentioned in the schedule of counselling as per the
counselling letter, his / her claim for admission to any of the courses will be forfeited. The choice of course
made by the candidate / his / her representative will be final and binding and will not be ordinarily altered
later.
The selected candidates from amongst those called for counselling will have to finalise the admission by
payment of fees on the spot.
Failure to attend the counselling or to pay the fees on the spot and to submit all the necessary documents
may result in automatic forfeiture of the claim of the candidates for the selection.

Bond
All the students admitted to MD/MS/Diploma courses of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University
Medical Colleges at Pune and Sangli will have to execute a bond in the prescribed format at the time
of admission.
The bond will necessitate the post graduate students to work as a salaried Senior Resident/ Tutor in
the Hospital/College of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University for a period of one year after
completion of his/her courses. The bond may be relaxed in case of non-availability of seat.
Court Jurisdiction :
Any legal matters arising out of the admission procedure of the P.G. courses through All India Common

This has to be submitted immediately after the conformation of the admission.
Note : As per the directions of Honble Supreme Court of India Order No. SLP(C) No. 24295/2004 and
SLP No. 143656/2005, WP (C) No. 173/2006 and SLP(C) No. 24296-24299/2004 all the students
are hereby informed the following.
If any incidents of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned students shall be
given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory the authority would expel him
from the institution.
