A Warning To All Imran Khan Haters!

Ayeza Nadeem
No one can deny the impact of print and social media in this age of info and technology but the
way it has been misused is tuning out to be simply unacceptable. The media managers and
media personalities have assumed that they are the king makers, opinion makers and they can
manipulate any issue to make it more profitable, regardless of its ultimate cost. This attitude
has become so redundant in Pakistani media that it is simply putting off ardent viewers like me
who actually respected many media analysts and loved to watch political discussions on
different shows. I identify myself as a Muslim first, a patriotic Pakistani housewife second and
then a mother of two. No matter what I watch on media, the only way to judge it would be first
and foremost on the criteria of Islam, whether it is legal or not according to our Deen and then
on any other social or legal standard.
I will touch this one important issue that Ive been hearing on different channels recently which
is a prime example of our religious and moral bankruptcy. Is Imran Khan an adulterer and does
he have an illegitimate daughter named Tyrian? Rival come on talk shows, especially the
traitorous GEO Network, and in response to IKs accusations about corruption and
mismanagement of public funds, they start hurling accusations about IKs love child. Let me
name three persons in recent talk shows to symbolize the extent of damage in the society on all
levels. First is Tahir Ashrafi, a mullah, member of Islamic Ideology Counsel, sympathizer of pro
India forum SAFMA, who appeared on a live news show apparently drunk. Second is the
notorious son of a former controversial judge, who became billionaire in a matter a couple of
years miraculously and has a gall to raise this issue, Arsalan Iftekhar. The third person is a
corrupt politician, known money launderer by admission and a billionaire with top position in
government, Ishaq Dar. He along with many likeminded politicians love to insult IK on this
private issue in response to his allegations about corruption. Anchors love to watch the
heated debate between guests shamelessly and incite even more hitting below the belt as it
means higher ratings and more viewership. Does anyone of them realize that they are
committing an extremely dangerous sin and breaking the Hadd of Allaah which is punishable
by 80 lashes as per Islamic Shariah law? If Shariah law is not in affect today in Pakistan, does
that mean that committing a crime against Allaah and breaking His Haddood will go unpunished
by Him on the Day of Judgment and offenders will not have to face severe consequences? I, as a
borderline Muslim, simply shudder at the thought that this slander is a crime which is strictly
prohibited by Allaah, His Messenger (s), Quran and the Sunnah but these media mullas and
other important personalities have no knowledge or have they chosen to simply ignore this
strict law in order to gain some worldly advantage? If that is the case, then it is a very poor
choice on their part and I have deep sympathies for these criminals who are committing this
heinous crime before millions of witnesses.

Let me educate these people in Islamic law and then anyone of you disagreeing can go to a
mufti of your own choice and get a ruling or a fatwa to prove me wrong. Can we call IK an
adulterer if we have strong doubts about his affair with Anna Louise White aka Sita White
which allegedly resulted in a daughter? NO! As per Islamic Shariah Law, we simply cannot
accuse any person of committing adultery on the basis of doubt unless we have four eye
witnesses who have seen the act taking place with their own eyes. Period! We have vivid proof
from Islamic history that shows that even if four people saw an act of adultery from their eyes
but even if one of them had a slight doubt as to the identity of the accused in question, all four
were given 80 lashes for Qazaf or lying because even reporting such an act amounted to
slander! (2) The Mufties will give you more detailed information because even though I pride
myself to be an open minded person, I cannot write down the minute requirements needed
before an eyewitness can even come forward to testify. Muslims always knew the severity of
this issue and the law made sure that society does not indulge in this kind of careless behavior
that degrades the honor of its members.
Here I want to make another specific point absolutely clear. There is a difference between
adultery and rape. Adultery takes place with the consent of two people whereas rape is a sex
crime committed by a criminal against a helpless woman. I once saw the former head of Jamat
e Islami, Munawar Hassan in a news show in which he was educating us that even if rape is
committed, a women cannot accuse the criminal in the absence of four witnesses so she should
keep her mouth shut. I hope no female family member of these so called scholars ever has to
go through the trauma of this offence in order to make them think and feel like a normal
human being but these religious men have done so much damage to our sublime Deen that
has caused resentment in the hearts of every sensible person thus providing great disservice to
all Muslims. We have evidence from the Sunnah of our holy Prophet (s) that punishment was
awarded to a rapist on the accusation of a single women, based on circumstantial evidence (2).
Even in this day and age, many rapist in Saudia and Iran are beheaded or hanged on
circumstantial and other scientific evidence but an average mullah cannot see that and has to
raise controversy for his own personal interest. DNA evidence and other circumstantial
evidences can be used to catch a criminal especially a rapist, which is a wonderful thing and a
blessing of our modern age. If Muslims want to do Ijtehad and catch adulterers on the basis of
DNA evidence, they can technically do so with the scientific knowledge at their disposal but any
student of Quran and Sunnah can tell you that this is simply not the style and attitude of our
Deen. Adultery is a sin, pardonable by Allaah if the culprits are ashamed of their act and our
noble Prophet (s) specifically advised some people to refrain from publicly announcing their sin
and repent in private. True, he (s) gave punishment to some adulterers who insisted on paying
for their sin in this worldly life in order to save their eternal life but that took place after their
open admission, without duress. In the matter of IK, Sita White never accused him of a raping
her (the last I heard) so we cannot even ask him to present himself for a DNA test. This is his
own sweet will if he has any doubts but technically no one has a right to even demand that of
him.

The other day I saw Irsalan Iftekhar and the mullah Ashrafi holding a court ruling from US,
declaring Tyrian as IKs daughter and asking the media to support them in order to disqualify IK
on the basis of article 62-63. These moron think that we are mindless flock of sheep who will
fall for their gimmicks and for this attitude alone I want to strangle both of them but let us
analyze this rationally as well. Did IK provide DNA evidence in the court or did he abstain from
appearing before the court and the ruling was given in his absence on purely circumstantial one
sided evidence provided by a US citizen? We can question his decision not to appear before a
court but it was his decision, right or wrong, which does not prove his paternity. Sita White was
a 6 foot tall woman, filthy rich, who made allegations against IK when he was at the height of
his fame and a heart throb of many and her motives can be strongly challenged. She was a close
friend of Jamima and left her daughter in her care when she died so not IK but his former wife is
her official legal guardian. These are the hard facts which we seem to forget when everyone
one of us is discussing and indulging in slander.
Now on a lighter note, some IK haters have appealed to my good humor and after accepting my
evidence on face value, I have been asked to comment on the circumstantial evidence to at
least condemn what IK did on some level. To them my humble reply is, firstly; I will never
want to put myself in a position where I deliberately indulge in a sin punishable by Quranic law.
Secondly, being an ardent viewer of Hollywood movies, mystery novels and countless detective
series from childhood like Sherlock Holmes, Alfred Hitchcock, Colombo, I know fully well that in
all cases, the most obvious scenarios staring the detectives on the onset are rarely the facts in
the end and usually everything turns out to be exactly opposite of what we imagine in the
beginning. I can give you at least two or three brilliant concocted plots which can explain why
Tyrian resembles IK or how she ended up in IKs former wifes household but they would not
mean anything without concrete evidence. For example, no disrespect to Sita White, but maybe
after falling in love with IK and not getting a positive response from him, she became so
infuriated and infatuated that she planned to trap him, blackmailed him and found some guy
who resembled him and had an affair with him. IK look alike are not uncommon to find and we
usually see some of them in his dharna nowadays who get good media coverage. In fact, we
have one in our neighborhood who acted in his movie Kaptan and looks remarkably like his
younger self.
The point is, everybody is free to think whatever he believes in his heart or whatever appeals to
his mind but as a Muslim, we have to give others their rights in order to receive the same and
getting protection from slander is definitely one of the basic ones so we must hold our tongues.
I did not write this essay because I am an IK Lover but because as a Muslim, I am bound by
Sharia Law! Whether it is in practice today or not is not important, I have to remember that I
am answerable to Allaah for my actions and side with the truth. So the next time you see
people indulging in this sin, especially the shameless mullah who has made a mockery of Islam
and Shariah, please have the courage to speak up and remind them of what they are actually
doing and how it is damaging none other but themselves. May Allaah have mercy on all sinners
and give us time to repent with sincerity. Ameen!

1. In his book Islam and World Peace M.R Bawa Muhaiyaddeen states that in order to
curb frivolous propaganda, a slanderer who cannot furnish four witnesses is given
lashes. If three witnesses testify and the fourth witness is not available then the former
three are also punished with eighty lashes each. However, if a husband accuses his wife
of adultery but cannot support his accusation with witnesses, he cannot be lashed. This
is to avoid domestic upheavals. In this case the husband is made to repeat four times by
calling Allaah as a witness that his wife has committed adultery. The fifth time he has to
say that if he is lying, the curse of Allaah be upon him. His wife is also given a similar
right that she can say four times, calling Allaah as a witness that her husband is lying.
The fifth time she has to say that if her husband is telling the truth, then the curse and
the wrath of Allaah be upon her. She can escape punishment in this way but the divorce
between them takes place legally. This law is derived from the sixth and the seventh
verse of Surah an-Nr.
2. Most Islamic legal scholars interpret rape as a crime in the category of hiraba (highway
robbery, terrorism or promoting terror). Hiraba does not require four witnesses to
prove the offence; circumstantial evidence, medical data and expert testimony form the
evidence used to prosecute such crimes. During the time of the Prophet (s), punishment
was inflicted on a rapist on the solitary evidence of the woman who was raped by the
perpetrator. Wail ibn Hujr reports of an incident when a woman was raped. She raised
the alarm and some people rushed to help her and caught the fleeing man. She
identified and accused the man of raping her. They seized him and brought him to
Allahs messenger who said to the woman, Go away, for Allh has forgiven you, but of
the man who had raped her, he said, stone him to death. Imam Tirmidhi related this
Hadith in his Jami with two different chains of transmission, and he declared the second
chain of transmission as reliable. (Jami Tirmidhi, Kitabul Hadd, Bab 22, Hadith nr. 1453,
1454) (Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 38, #4366)
