Directors Message
Indian Institute of Management Indore was established in 1996 by the Government
of India in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh State Government. IIM Indore has
evolved as a most rapidly growing management institution in the country.
As a part of its growth strategy, IIM Indore offers its PGP programme both in Mumbai
and in UAE.
Like any other world class institution, the Post Graduate Programme in Management
(PGP) curriculum at IIM Indore provides extensive, in depth and rewarding education
to help participants realize their potential to be outstanding managers and business
leaders. This two year programme is known for its rigour and focus on practice. A
range of courses in personality development, ethics, corporate governance, rural
development and exposure to realities of social life in India enable the student to
develop skills, talent and concepts to shoulder challenging management positions
in varied socio-cultural and economic setting.
We are confident that our graduates would contribute significantly to the wealth
creation process in organizations both in the national and international setting.
We are constantly exploring ways and means, by which our interaction with
industry can be strengthened and made mutually rewarding. The institute has
various avenues of interaction with the corporate. These include live projects,
leadership guest lectures, industry visits, case discussions, summer internship and
final placements. I invite your participation in these activities in order to develop,
enhance and enrich our relationship.
I wish to thank each of our existing corporate partners for their continued support
to the institute and look forward to seeing you again on campus. For organizations
visiting us for the first time, I welcome you to the IIM Indore community.

Curriculum
Program at IIM Indore
The Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management at IIM Indore is a two-year, full-time,
residential programme. It is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities and is considered
equivalent to the M.B.A. Degree. The PGP is spread over two years, each year consisting of three
terms. In between the first and second years, the participant spends eight weeks on a summer
project in a business organization. The academic year begins in June/July and ends in March/
April of the following year.
The PGP of IIM Indore has some special features like:
Experiential Learning
International Focus
Information Technology Orientation
Social Sensitivity
In the second year electives give participants a deeper understanding of different functional
areas and enable them to specialize in areas of their choice. The participants are encouraged
to select courses in specific domains such as Analytics, Ecom./IT/ITES, BFS, FMCG, Insurance and
Infrastructure. The emphasis is on the application of knowledge gained, in the form of projects,
group exercises and case discussions. Guest lectures and workshops further enrich their learning.
Rural Immersion
At IIM Indore, there is an overwhelming realization of the important role that rural India will play
in the overall development of this nation. In this spirit, IIM Indore organizes an annual Rural
Immersion Program for its students in the first year of the PGP program. The purpose of this
program is to familiarize students with the ground realities of various Districts in Madhya Pradesh.
The entire effort works wonderfully at sensitizing the participants towards the needs and problems
of the village communities, and how the government machinery in addition to non-government
organizations is working towards the betterment of the people in these districts. The participants
are interfaced with key government officials like, District Collector, Magistrate etc. to have
first-hand knowledge of functioning and ground level implementation of various government
policies. This exposes them to the lifestyle of the rural population and sensitizes them to the need
of inclusive growth.
