DECEASED Please pray for Terence Jordan RIP who died recently, his Funeral Service will be at
Slough Crematorium on Wednesday, 10th December at 1.00pm. May his soul and the souls of all
the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
CONGRATULATIONS to Hugo Glover who will be Baptised on Saturday, 6th December. Please
pray for his parents, Godparents and Grandparents.
WE WELCOME the children from Class 4POB, Our Lady of Peace Junior School, to the 9.30am Mass
on Tuesday.

MARKING ADVENT You may like to mark Advent by attending an early morning Mass. There will
be a Mass in the Chapel at St Bernards School at 7.15am. on the first three Fridays of Advent: 5th
December, 12th December and 19th December.
LONDON & SLOUGH RUN Fr Kevin would like to thank all the golfers who participated in the first
London and Slough Run golf competition. Holy family competed against Our Lady of Peace Parish
who were the victors on the day. 360 was raised for the charity and a great day was had by
everyone.

ADVENT BOOKS Copies of Walk with Me, a journey of prayer for Advent and Christmastide, are
available. Priced 1 each.
PARISH MASS BOOKS We start to use Volume 1 of the new Mass books for Year B from this
weekend, First Sunday of Advent. As with Year A and Year C, books if you would like to donate
1.95 for one of these books, or 7.95 for the large print books, please feel free to do so, and we
will enter into the book a dedication for your intention. Just put into an envelope the offering and
the name(s) you wish inscribed in the book(s) and hand to Yvonne: for a deceased person please
add 'RIP' to the name or names; for someone alive, please add 'Intention'.
APF/MHF RED BOXES. The second half-yearly count for 2014 is due to take place in the next 2-3
weeks for banking of your donations BEFORE Christmas. Would all Red Box Holders kindly bring
their boxes to Mass in the forthcoming weekends to assist in a quick count and turnaround. Many

COME AND SEE Are you thinking of becoming a Catholic? A new course
for anyone thinking of joining the Catholic Church has started, the course will
run on Thursdays, from 7.30pm-8.45pm in the Presbytery. Please contact Fr
Andy for more information either after Mass or on 01628 605764.
THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION will be conferred by Bishop Peter
NEXT year on Tuesday, 23rd June 2015 at 7.30pm. If any young person from
Year 8 onwards would like to receive Confirmation next year, then please will
they themselves write to Fr Andy as soon as possible to request to receive this
Sacrament and to join the course. All applications need to be in by Friday, 20th
December please.
THE SOUTHWARK VOCATIONS MISSION TEAM have been working with a group of friends to
develop a discipleship project for young people called Made for Glory. Every day during Advent
they will release a short vidcast in which a young man or woman will give a reflection on that days
Gospel. They are harnessing the power of the new media to advertise this online advent
calendar. The idea behind the Made for Glory project is to provide resources of an outstanding
quality that are readily accessible to young people. It also reflects the reality that vocations are
best discerned in the context of Christian discipleship. The Made for Glory Advent Calendar will be
available on Youtube: www.youtube.com/user/madeforgloryuk
ST ANDREW'S DAY There will be a joint Ecumenical service at St Andrew's Church on Monday,
1st December at 7.00pm. All welcome.
POST-MISSION MEETING: WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? There will be a Mission followup meeting with Allegra from the Sion Community on Tuesday, 2nd December at 7.00pm in Our
Lady of Peace. This will be a great opportunity to discuss how, as a Parish, we may build on the
fruits of the Mission. All parishioners are welcome to come and share in the discussion.
CHURCH CLEANING will be on Saturday, 6th December at 9.00am. Please try and spare an
hour to help.

ADVENT DAY OF PRAYER to prepare for Christmas, on Saturday, 6th December from 9.30am to
5.00pm at Holy Redeemer Church, Slough, speaker is Fr David Larkin.. Please bring packed
lunch, tea and coffee provided. Contact Sr Nora on 01753 575827 for further details and to book a
place.
CHURCHES TOGETHER IN BURNHAM Joint Advent Carol Service, The Light of the World, on
Sunday, 7th December at 3.00pm in the United Reformed Church, Stomp Road, Burnham. All
welcome. Come and sing the beautiful songs of Advent as we prepare for Christmas.
LONDON AND SLOUGH RUN Homeless Christmas Street Party, London, Monday 15th
December. Once again, we depend on your very kind generosity to help supply the goodie bags
for the street parties. The list of contents is below and we would like to thank you in advance for
thinking of our friends on the street at a particularly lonely time of year.
Bag contents (suggested items):

1 x cooked chicken or turkey breasts or thighs (foil wrapped)

1 x round of meat sandwiches

1 x round of jam or cheese sandwiches

1 x portion of Christmas/fruit cake/mince pie

Bar of chocolate

Bag of crisps

1 x soft drink

1 x banana or orange

A Christmas wrapped present of warm hat, gloves, socks or toiletries

A Christmas card
Delivery Bags can be placed in the hut at the back of Our Lady of Peace Church on Monday 15th
