CREATION OF POINT TO POINT SERVICE ON ISA

The Alcatel ES system can manage packets data streams transported over local Ethernet FE or GbE
(Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet) and Remote port ethernet over GFP/SDH or LAPS/SDH.

# Local port refers to external ISA port to be connected to router/switch etc.

#Remote ports refers to internal ISA ports facing MATRIX/SDH NETWORK.

From NM map open ISA view.

LOCAL PORT CONFIGURATION.

1. Admin-up the local port to be used.

(Rest all has to be default configuration in the window above)

After this there will be an alarm on Local ETH port i.e LOS (Loss of signal)

(A)REMOTE PORT CONFIGURATION

Remote port configuration is to be done at ISA side and at NE side.
In this step we are doing the NE side.
Open ISA configuration on Equipment view window..

Select the ISA remote port to be configured.For example if we are using remote port 1005.
Select the level of Virtual Concatenation like VC3 XV
Select the level of concatenation according to the bandwidth required.(E.g for 100 Mbps select
X=3)..(If we are using VC-12XV bandwidth requirement is 10 Mbps then X=5 so that 2 *5=10)

Then Select Create/Change to commit the above settings.

Using the LCAS feature.
LCAS: Link capacity adjustment scheme used for dynamic changes of bandwidth according
to availability of resources in network.

Enable ,apply and Close.

ACTIVATION OF TERMINATION POINTS
In this step the individual TPs within the remote port are activated.
(THERE ARE 3 TPS ONE FOR EACH VC3 in VC3XV configuration.(X=3)
Go to Cntr path Act:

Select the TPs to be active:

Apply and Close:

The selected TPs will turn to green colour.
(B)REMOTE PORT CONFIGURATION IN ISA VIEW.
In this step we are doing the configuration of remote port from ISA side.
Go to ISA node view where the remote port will be configured as below:
Admin up the port , Select VCONC and the level of concatenation (as shown below)

Admin up the remote port and Select Concatenation as below:

Press OK & OK.

After the above action there will be an alarm on remote port as TSF (trail signal failure) as the
remote port is not crossconnected. :
This will disappear when we create the CC from the Main Equipment view.Between the required
optical and Remote port:

Creation of the ETH Cross connect between ISA Local and Remote port:
Click on Connections tab in ISA view:

Select port----port(p2p) for point to point service .Press Next.

Click on port ETH Egree .

Click search on the next appeared dialog box:

All the ports on ISA which are in ADMIN UP state will be displayed .Select the relevant port.

Select the required remote port to be CCed to the local port, Choose connection as Bidirectional and
& Apply & Finish.

Now create the CKT on SDH:

The same way the CCs are to be made per BW requirement.

The time when you would finish the creation of the CCs on both the ends, the alarm on remote port
will disappear.
The configuration on one node is done.
Follow the same procedure as above for the node on the other end. !!
