2nd Grade Report Card Comments

Daeus
Having Daeus in class has been an honor. His support and positive attitude with his fellow students is inspirational.
Daeus oral reading fluency has increased to 127 words per minute. The reading fluency goal for second grade is 106
words per minute. Daeus has far exceeded that goal!
Daeus reading comprehension is outstanding. His score on the most recent MAZE test was 18. The goal for
comprehension, as illustrated on this test, is 15. Once again, Daeus has exceeded that goal.
Daeus did an exceptional job in math this term. On the Mathematics Concepts and Applications (M-CAP) test that
assesses the general mathematics problem-solving skills expected in Grades 2-8, Daeus received a score of 34. The goal
for this test is a 21!
On another standard math test, the M-COMP, which tests math computation abilities, Daeus scored a 41, far exceeding
the tests goal of 34.
In addition to his exceptional academic skills, Daeus is a compassionate and conscientious, role model for other
students. He has been a joyful addition to our classroom this year. I know he will accomplish great things in all his future
endeavors.

Angelina
Angelina has been such a wonderful part of our classroom this year!
Angelina has shown significant growth this year. Her reading fluency, as measured by the R-CBM standardized test, has
grown to 106 words per minute, meeting the goal score of 106 for this test.
Angelinas reading comprehension is very strong. Her score on the most recent MAZE test was 17. The goal for
comprehension, as illustrated on this test, is 15. Angelina exceeded that goal.
Angelina did an exceptional job in math this term. On the Mathematics Concepts and Applications (M-CAP) test that
assesses the general mathematics problem-solving skills expected in Grades 2-8, Angelina received a score of 25,
surpassing the tests goal score of 21.
On another standardized math test, the M-COMP, which tests math computation abilities, Angelina scored 50, far
exceeding the tests goal of 34.
In addition to her exceptional academic skills, Angelina is a compassionate and conscientious, role model for other
students. She has been a joyful addition to our classroom this year. I know she will accomplish great things in all her
future endeavors.

Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn has been a pleasure to have in class this year. Her creative thinking has been a great addition to our team.
Kaitlyns oral reading fluency has increased to 96 words per minute, very nearly meeting the goal score of 106 for this
test.

Kaitlyns reading comprehension is strong. Her score on the most recent MAZE test was 18. The goal for comprehension,
as illustrated on this test, is 15. Kaitlyn exceeded that goal.
Kaitlyn did well in math this term. On the Mathematics Concepts and Applications (M-CAP) test that assesses the
general mathematics problem-solving skills expected in Grades 2-8, Kaitlyn received a score of 18. The goal of this test
was a score of 21. Kaitlyn very nearly met this goal.
In addition to her academic growth, Kaitlyn is a compassionate and conscientious, classmate. She has been a joyful
addition to our classroom this year.

Layla
Layla has been a pleasure to have in class this year. Her creative thinking has been a great addition to our team.
Laylas oral reading fluency has increased to 76 words per minute. The goal score for this test was 106. With further
practice reading aloud to friends and family members, Layla will more closely approach future test goals.
Laylas reading comprehension is strong. Her score on the most recent MAZE test was 14 very nearly meeting the goal
score of 15 for comprehension, as illustrated on this test.
Layla also showed growth in math this term. On the Mathematics Concepts and Applications (M-CAP) test that assesses
the general mathematics problem-solving skills expected in Grades 2-8, Layla received a score of 17. The goal of this test
was a score of 21. Layla very nearly met this goal.
On another standardized math test, the M-COMP, which tests math computation abilities, Layla scored 50, far exceeding
the tests goal of 34.
In addition to her academic growth, Layla is a compassionate and conscientious, classmate. She has been a joyful
addition to our classroom this year.

Mark
Mark has been such an intelligent, refreshing member in our class. His capacity to learn and share his knowledge,
leading the class in in-depth complex conversations is exceptional.
Marks oral reading fluency has increased to 116 words per minute. The reading fluency goal for second grade is 106
words per minute. Mark has exceeded that goal!
Markss reading comprehension is strong. His score on the most recent MAZE test was 14, very nearly meeting the goal
score of 15 for comprehension, as illustrated on this test.
Mark did exceptionally well in math this term. On the Mathematics Concepts and Applications (M-CAP) test that
assesses the general mathematics problem-solving skills expected in Grades 2-8, Mark received a score of 29 exceeding
the goal for this test, which is 21.
On another standard math test, the M-COMP, which tests math computation abilities, Mark scored 47, far exceeding the
tests goal of 34.
In addition to his exceptional academic skills, Mark has been a passionate and creative, member of our class. He has
been a joyful addition to our classroom this year. I know he will accomplish great things in all his future endeavors.

Aspen
Aspen has been a positive and spirited member of our classroom this year. I cannot fully express my admiration of both
her candor, practicality, and kindness.
Aspen has shown exceptionally strong academic skills this year. Her reading fluency, as measured by the R-CBM

7Bradley
Bradley has been such a great member of our classroom! His support and positive attitude with his fellow students is
inspirational.
Bradleys oral reading fluency, as measured by the RCBM (standardized) test reached 101 words per minute. The reading
fluency goal for second grade is 106 words per minute. Bradley has made great strides in nearing that goal.
Bradleys reading comprehension has grown as well. His score on the most recent MAZE test was 12. The goal for
comprehension, as illustrated on this test, is 15. Bradleys work shows in his nearing this goal so closely.
Bradley did an exceptional job in math this term. On the Mathematics Concepts and Applications (M-CAP) test that
assesses the general mathematics problem-solving skills expected in Grades 2-8, Bradley received a score of 22,
exceeding the goal for this test of 21.
On another standard math test, the M-COMP, which tests math computation abilities, Bradley scored 36, exceeding the
tests goal of 34.
In addition to his academic growth, Bradley is a compassionate and conscientious classmate. He has been an exceptional
member of our classroom this year. I know he will accomplish great things in all his future endeavors.
