Each year the department of electronics and communication engineering of RMKCET organizes

a Research Forum. This event is an opportunity for graduate students to present their research,
sharpen their skills and compete for prizes.

Rmkcet Electronics and Communication research opportunities

Forum (RECROF)
Through student presentations, keynote speakers and a panel discussion these topics will be
explored with a focus on addressing students ability to make connections between the forum
themes and their futures as researchers.
The Research Forum will be of interest to anyone wanting insights into how new and emerging
research tools and methods can generate data that can be used for individual, societal, and
commercial benefit. The Rmkcet Electronics and Communication research opportunities Forum

(RECROF) opens pathways to navigate this landscape.

The advent of social media, big data and new technologies brings novel opportunities and
challenges for social and market research; these changes will alter the career landscape for
research, business, social science and computer applications students.
The Rmkcet Electronics and Communication research opportunities Forum (RECROF) provides
Faculties And students to access research opportunities. RECROF offers research and presentation awards
for student-initiated independent undergraduate research and creative endeavors at RMKCET. RECROF is
also a resource for faculties and students to connect with researchers worldwide.

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION:

Proposal for Group Panel Presentation

Group panels can be comprised of three to five graduate students. At least two different fields must be
represented. The group is responsible for selecting its own faculty moderator. One presenter must be
named as the "primary point person" responsible for the submission. If the proposal is accepted, all
presenters will be asked to submit an abstract as part of the proposal.
PRIZES:

Research Awards
Qualified students may make proposal requests for project-related expenses (supplies, stipend, travel, etc.)

Presentation Awards
Qualified students may apply for travel funds to supplement the costs of attending a specific professional
conference where they will present their research or creative project. To be eligible, students should be the first
author on the presentation, poster, or creative project.

Why Research?
Research has both short and long term benefits, and is valuable to the individual as well as the community. In
todays competitive job market and graduate/ professional school application processes, undergraduate
research allows students resumes and CVs to stand apart from the crowd and demonstrate initiative in
developing skills relevant to their area of study. UROP makes research available to students outside of the
confines of the classroom, where they can engage in discoveries that they find important, timely, and exciting.
Build Life Skills
Actively researching an academic area of interest comes with its own challenges, and completion of research
reflects problem-solving skills, advanced inquiry/methodology strategies, and a creativity that cannot be
acquired from textbooks alone. Hands-on research allows students to apply and expand on what they have
learned in the classroom. Students who undertake research also learn to use their time wisely, manage budgets
and leverage existing resources all useful real life skills.
Contribute to Our History and our Future
Projects that are unique to a students vision contribute to the wealth of collective knowledge that UH
Mnoa has accrued through years of innovative research. More importantly, taking part in research means
participating in a vision of addressing problems and presenting solutions for a better future.
Work with Experts
Research provides an in-depth education by immersing students in an environment where they can work sideby-side with leaders and faculty members of their field using groundbreaking technologies.
Make Yourself Known
Students can present their research at international conferences and make essential connections with those in
similar academic fields.
Research is Exciting!
Students who have participated in past projects funded by UROP have conducted a diverse array research
endeavors in countries such as Iran, Nicaragua, France, and Tonga. Recipients have worked in fields ranging
from music to the sciences to business. Students have written novels, conducted cross-cultural studies, and

designed micro-robots. These life changing experiences enrich students sense of purpose and lifelong
learning.

Timeline

. Eligibility Requirements
Funding should support researchers to cooperate in consortia consisting of partners from
at least three of the participating countries.
Researchers from countries not represented by any of the Partner Organizations can
participate in the research project at their own expense.
Each consortium must also show clear links to users and include collaboration between
natural and social sciences, and other sciences where relevant.
Consortium partners should identify a Leading Principal Investigator (LPI) for each proposal
for application, management and communication purposes. The LPI is officially responsible
for all communications with the Call Program Office, including the submission
Proposal. These communications must be in accordance with the LPIs funding agency
requirements.
