Sibling Preference Communication

Dear Parent/Guardian:
As we begin a new lottery season for the 2015-2016 school year, MLC needs to plan for new sibling(s) of current students who are
interested in attending MLC. To be considered for sibling preference, the new sibling(s) must complete and submit an on-time lottery
application to Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) between November 15, 2014 and the deadline of February 27, 2015.
Submission of this form does not enroll you into the lottery. You must complete a RSCO lottery application online, located at
www.choiceeducation.org or submit a RSCO paper application. You must apply before the deadline, February 27, 2015, or your
child will not be considered for the sibling preference.
Sibling preference applies to families of a current student, who will continue to attend that school in the 2015-2016 school year, and has a
sibling who will apply to that same school. Siblings are defined as students living in the same household with the biological parent, legal
guardian or foster family. Although siblings receive preference, placement depends on seat availability and is not guaranteed.
This form must be filled out and returned to your current students school.
All current families must submit an on-time RSCO lottery application either online located at www.choiceeducation.org or complete a
RSCO paper application and submit by the RSCO deadline.
Applicants must select the current students school as 1st choice on the RSCO lottery application to receive the preference.
Applicants must enter the current sibling on the RSCO application of the new sibling application on the RSCO application where it is
requested.
Once the sibling has received the placement offer from RSCO, the sibling must accept the seat by the RSCO deadline, and meet all
other requirements outlined in the RSCO placement letter, or the student will not be allowed to be enrolled.
Complete the bottom portion of this form and return it to: Nancy Geffken, no later than February 27, 2015.

Al comenzar una nueva temporada de lotera para el ao 2015-2016, MLC reune los nombres de nuevos hermanos de estudiantes actuales
que estn interesados con matricularse en nuestra escuela. Para ser considerado(a) para la matriculacin, cada uno de los nuevos
hermanos deben completar y presentar una solicitud de lotera a tiempo a la Oficina Regional de Eleccin de Escuela (RSCO) entre el 15
de Noviembre de 2014 y la fecha lmite del 27 de febrero de 2015.
Al enviar este formulario, usted no est inscrito en la lotera. Debe completar una solicitud de la lotera de RSCO en lnea, localizada
en www.choiceeducation.org o presentar una solicitud de papel. Se debe presentar no ms tardar de la fecha lmite, el 27 de febrero
de 2015, o su hijo(a) no se considerar para la preferencia de hermano.
La preferencia de hermano se le aplica a familias cuando un nuevo hermano solicita a la misma escuela de un estudiante actual, quien
continuar asistiendo la escuela en el ao escolar 2015-2016. Hermanos se definen como estudiantes que viven en la misma casa con el
padre biolgico, tutor legal o familia de crianza. Aunque hermanos reciben preferencia, colocacin depende de la disponibilidad de
asiento y no se garantiza.
Todas las familias actuales deben presentar una solicitud de la lotera de RSCO en lnea a tiempo localizada en
www.choiceeducation.org o completar una solicitud de papel y presentarla no ms tardar de la fecha lmite.
Los solicitantes deben seleccionar la escuela del estudiante actual como su "primera opcin" en la solicitud de la lotera RSCO para
recibir la preferencia.
Los solicitantes deben colocar el nombre del "hermano" actual en el lugar donde se solicita en la solicitud de RSCO del hermano nuevo.
A la que el hermano nuevo haya recibido una oferta de colocacin de RSCO, ese hermano debe aceptar el asiento no ms tardar de la
fecha lmite de RSCO, o el estudiante no se le permitir matricularse.
