Gravity lights research


The idea of creating gravity lights is originally found by group of scientists from university of California
Berkeley and Illinois, United Sate. Gravity lights are raised fund and be produced to provide to Africas
people and poor households in India with the price is less than 5$, and the totally raising fund was about
$399.590 over $55.000 goal. This number partly proved that this product attracted investors due to its
effectiveness and friendly to environment. Therefore, we aim to distribute this product to Vietnamese
market.
Market analysis
The supply, demand and customer trends
Since this product hasnt been produced in Vietnam and few Vietnamese people know about it, our
competitive advantages as the role of exclusive distributors can be increased, together with its
usefulness like geographically and physically independent,. Moreover, the idea of using gravity lights
meets the demand and petition in many aspects. First is the role supply and demand theory. Whenever
there is demand, there is supply. Supply and demand determines price in the market. If demand
increases with the unchanged supply, the product will have higher equilibrium price. Second is customer
trends, product that meet the trends obviously can larger its brand image. In addition, following
government trends avoid business from other risks in the future.
Considering those above theories into practice, our group sees that: The demand of power in Viet Nam
has been increasing recently and Vietnamese people today have tendency to care more about products
that meet environment requirement than before. Besides, it is also encouraged by Vietnamese
government to save electric power through some big campaigns. Hence, it can be predicted that the
occurrence of gravity lights in Vietnamese market not only meet the market demand and suitable with
market trends, but also support government policy. Therefore, when gravity lights penetrate the local
market, it may not appropriate to just follow the strategy of raising fund like the founder group of
scientists from university of California Berkeley and Illinois, United Sate did. We need to build up our
chain by finding exclusive producers for us in Vietnam. The two markets have different characteristics;
their aim is to focus on poor countries and areas but Vietnam is a developing country that has young,
dynamic market and also has stable per capital income. Our company aim is to become exclusive
distributor with the copyright license from the founder group; we have vision and mission and set up
strategy like any others companies. So set up with the suitable price will make us becomes a strong
competitor in the lighting market on the very beginning of the stage.

SWOT analysis is a tool for strategic planning and decision making of organization bases on analyzing
four aspects of company:

(1) Strengths: companys characteristics that make it have advantages over others.
(2) Weaknesses: companys characteristics that make it become disadvantage to others.
(3) Opportunities: potential objective changes from outside that bring more successful chances to the
company.
(4) Threats: outsides elements that causes negative effects on the company.

Marketing mix
Marketing mix is also called 4Ps. Its one of the most popular terms in marketing, part of marketing
plan. We mainly focus on four aspects of it: product, price, place and promotion.
(1) Product: all key features and benefits that customers gain from buying products or services.
(2) Price: products or services are provided with the most attractive and suitable price for consumers
and retain companys competitive advantages.
(3) Place: at where products or services are made, sold, distributed and always available to customer to
buy.
(4) Promotion: activities that company use to attract customers and make them aware of companys
products or services.
(5) People: people engage in companys working business (staffs, salesman,) and providing high
customer services.
