Course Objectives:

Be prepared for personal and professional success with awareness and commitment to
their ethical and social responsibilities, and diversity, both as individuals and in team
environments.
To make the students conversant with principles of water supply, treatment and
distribution.

An ability to design and conduct experiments, and to critically analyze and interpret
data.

A knowledge of contemporary issues that affect Civil and Environmental


Engineering.

An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for
engineering practice.

Course Outcomes:

The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a


global, economic, environmental, and societal context

To provide graduates with the technical knowledge and skills required to practice
environmental engineering
Design a component, system or process in environmental engineering context to meet
desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social,
political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability
Explain the role of a leader, leadership principles and attitudes conducive to the
effective practice of environmental engineering
Design an environmental engineering experiment to meet a need, conduct the
experiment, and analyze resulting data
