TED Talk Reflection
I think one of the biggest strengths in my TED Talk is that I presented something I was
deeply interested in. Therefore, most of the information did not have to be memorized as most of
the material came from prior knowledge and understanding. However, I also used several
specific data and statistic when appropriate in the presentation that adds an element of detail.
Furthermore, I believe that due to the practices and rehearses, I was able to develop a well
structured and naturally flowing presentation for the audience to follow easily. Moreover, this led
the presentation to be organized under the ten minute mark.
Secondly, I think I showed a good combination between content and my presentation
skills. I think I expressed my emotion for the topic appropriately throughout and continue to
catch the audiences attention. Another way I tried to keep the audiences attention is to use very
minimal text in the Prezi so that the audience does not get distracted with what is written on the
board. I used a combination of long and short sentences to change the rhythm and used simple
and subject specific lexis to change the tone of the presentation. However, I think if I could do
the TED talk again I would use the stage provided more effectively and walk around to a larger
area to be more interactive.
In overall, I think I did a relatively good job and found the task to be a very enriching and
educational experience.
