Looking Back
(What went well/not so well and why? What went differently than expected? What were the challenges
you faced and how did you respond? Etc.)
Todays lesson went really well in terms of Ts engagement with the lesson and the energy that they brought
to class. The crossword took much longer than I had anticipated and this set the rest of the lesson behind. I
chose to give them much more time to complete it rather than to pressure them to finish faster. This actually
worked to my advantage in the next lesson because I was able to skip the slap activity and another activity in
the next lesson and combine and adapt them into a much better one that was both beneficial to the Ts and
saved me a good 20 mins. of time that would have caused us to be quite behind. The students were very
engaged with the syllable part of the lesson and they were very good at distinguishing between the minimal
pairs and numbering the amount of syllables in the example words. Overall I was very pleased with this
lesson.

Looking Ahead
(What are the key learning points and how will you apply them? How might you do it differently next
time? What skills would you like to develop to teach this sort of class better? Etc.?)
I wouldnt have really changed anything. The lesson turned out better than I thought and the timing issues
led to a really great activity in the third period. The things that I would work would be connecting the tasks
more to the Ts real life and making the objectives clearer to them. Had the next lessons activities not gone
so well, I would have liked changed the lesson plan to give the teachers more time with the crossword
activity and slow the pace of this lesson down.
