Who We Are

About Us

Office Support
You can volunteer in office as well to help
this cause. Warm people are needed to greet
the public, answer phones and perform light
clerical tasks such as data entry and letter
stuffing for UAF staff members. We are open
Monday thru Friday from 9:00 AM 6:00
PM.

Mission

The Utah AIDS Foundation is a local nonprofit organization that was founded in 1985
to help support those individuals in Utah
who are living with HIV/AIDS. It is our goal
to unite the local community through
education and service.
Through the service of our volunteers we are
able to empower the community,
demonstrate acts of good faith and make
improvements to the lives of those living
with HIV/AIDS.

Volunteer
Opportunities
HIV Test Sites
The Utah AIDS Foundation offers HIV testing
on Monday and Thursday evenings from
4:45 PM 8:00 PM and at multiple outreach
locations throughout Salt Lake City. The test
site is completely staffed by volunteers who
are trained to do both HIV prevention
counseling and result sessions.

MSM Outreach
Volunteers provide condoms, safer sex
materials, and other party favors to bars,
clubs and public sex environments. In
addition, volunteers collect information
using surveys and socializing with club
goers, as well as answering questions about
HIV/STI prevention as appropriate.

Special Events
The UAF development department is
responsible for fundraising. We have two
major fundraising events: our annual Oscar
Night Gala in February and the Salt Lake
AIDS walk in September. We also have
special events surrounding HIV/AIDS
education during World AIDS Day in
December, and at the Utah Pride Festival in
June. Volunteers are needed to staff each of
these events, as well as serve on committees
to plan the events.

Food Bank Reception

Assist our clients through their shopping
experience at an on-site food pantry. This
opportunity allows you to connect with local
clients as you help bag their items and escort
them to their car. The food pantry is open
Wednesdays from 12:00 PM 6:00 PM and
Fridays from 10:00 AM 2:00 PM.

Hot Meal Delivery

In partnership with local hospitals, one hot
meal a day is offered to our local clients. In
this role, you will assist in the delivery of a
hot meal to our clients home. Its necessary
that you have your own operating vehicle, a
valid drivers license and proof of insurance.
Dependability is a must! For some clients, a
missed delivery means that they will go
hungry for that day. Meal pick-ups occur at
5:00 PM daily. Volunteers must commit to
deliver meals two days a month for at least
six months.

Food Bank Stocking

Help keep the on-site food pantry stocked
and organized for our local clients prior to
their shopping experience with us. Its
necessary that you are heart healthy and
able to do some heavy lifting if its required.
Stocking opportunities are available on
Tuesday and Thursdays during daytime
hours.

Seasons Giving
During the holidays, we run many
promotions to assist our local clients and
their families who may be struggling during
the season. We will need volunteers to
create and deliver holiday meal basket
donations. Our seasons giving helpers will
also help make and deliver personal care kits
and other gifts for clients. We rely on our
volunteers to help promote our giving
opportunities and to encourage the local
communities participation.
