Greetings from Ecuador!!

This time of year, it is very easy to think about all the things you are thankful for.
Friends, family, a roof over your head, heat, and food are just a short little list of things
that come to peoples minds. This year, Im especially thankful for the opportunity to
teach at Casa de Fe and to have these amazing children in my life. I am also thankful
for the relationships that I have built with others serving here at Casa de Fe. I have
made some amazing friends that I know I will have for the rest of my life.

Prayer

The past months have been

filled with teaching, learning,
experiencing and just being.
Im finally starting to feel as if
this is really my community. I
have made friends and
connections within the
community. I have explored
more of the culture and the
country of Ecuador. I have
fallen more in love with this
beautiful country.

Making lifelong friends

However, many changes are occurring here at Casa de Fe. Since I arrived, the administration of CdF has changed. Currently, the Ecuadorian board of CdF is directing the
daily operation of the home and the school. I am not comfortable with the present
policies and style of operating, which are very different than before.
After many prayers and discussions with
supporters, my family, my sending
organization, a counselor and other
missionaries, I have decided to return to
the States in December. It breaks my heart
to know that I will be leaving these kids
much earlier than anticipated. I am confident that no matter who is here to work
with these children or what changes take
place, God will be with them. I will not
leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
John 14:18

I have a sense of peace that leaving CdF now is what I am supposed to do. I have learned so much in my short time
here, about my own faith, my teaching style and just life in general. I know that God has a plan for me and He will
show me the next step in that plan. With CornerStones help, I am considering another placement for my remaining
six months of mission work, possibly another ministry in Ecuador or a school in Honduras. I will let you know as soon
as I can. Please continue your support!
Please pray for guidance for the CdF board, safe travels when I return to the States, clarity about the next step and,
of course, for the all children here at Casa de Fe.
