Servants Gather China Lutheran Seminary- Taiwan, November 7-9, 2014 Recently I was blessed with the opportunity to attend the regional meeting of LCMS servants in Taiwan. Servants gathered from all over Asia (see above picture). We met at the China Lutheran Seminary in Hsinchu, Taiwan (the only Mandarin speaking Lutheran Seminary in the entire world) for three very full, productive days beginning with a worship service in the chapel and concluding with the Divine Service on the last day. What a joy to listen to Gods Eating out the night before the conference Word, sing, worship, and receive Christs true body and blood for our forgiveness of sins and for the strengthening of our faith. This time together allowed those gathered to learn and inform others what God was doing in their area. After welcoming us to Taiwain, the president of the Lutheran church in Taiwan shared with us the work being done at the seminary and throughout Taiwan. His goal was to plant more churches and find more men to serve as Meeting together pastors in Taiwan. This weekend also provided for building relationships with those in other countries and providing mutual encouragement and support. This was done by studying Gods Word together, eating together, and visiting with each other. Sometimes this was done in a

Our new Senior Regional Director, Mr. Darin Storkson, was introduced to the group. He explained his role as director, answered questions and concerns, and updated us on new procedures and policies. He did an excellent job of all this. This time was helpful and beneficial for working together in the Lords field. My role during this time was serving as chaplain which was truly an honor and privilege. Leading and preaching at the worship services and China Lutheran Seminary teaching a Bible study on the gift of Confession Not me but Christ and Absolution using Luthers Small Catechism were some of my responsibilities. Although this conference gathered people from many and various countries, we all share the same goal of telling the good news of Jesus Christ. So whether the work is done in Mandarin, Tamil, Korean, English or through a translator we have a message to share. The message is the wonderful news of a Savior who came to save all people of every tribe and language and every corner of the earth. This Savior laid down His life on the cross for all sins and all sinners. The Lord has called us into His field to work while it is day before the night comes when no one can work. Please pray for the work being done in Asia. Pray for the safety of the workers and their families and those who hear the good news of Jesus Christ.
