NEEDLEWORK DEFINITIONS
Embroidered Tapestry (canvas work) is worked on embroidery canvas, either
single or double thread, using any suitable stitch or combination of stitches.
Stitching should completely cover the ground canvas.
Counted Work these embroideries are worked by counting the threads of the
fabric e.g. holbein, blackwork, pattern darning, pulled fabric, drawn thread, etc.
Surface Stitchery - embroideries worked freely across the surface of the fabric
without the necessity of counting the threads.
