relay switched at the back of the unit, ensuring an absolute minimum of signal distortion and colouration. The state of the art design includes an infra-red remote volume
control with mute function and input selection. The ultra-fidelity headphone amplifier

For those who wish to build their own custom pre-amplifier design based on the
K 5500 studio pre-amp, the following modules are available including all specified
components and PCB:
K 5501 (SC October 05): A compact high performance, low noise linear power
supply module designed specifically to power the studio pre-amplifier modules. 15V.
K 5502 (SC October 05): Utilising the latest ultra low noise high performance op
amps. Featuring 5 stereo RCA inputs plus easy integration with the headphone amplifier and power supply module. Unbelievably low 0.0005% distortion! Supplied with
PCB, components, input rotary switch, volume pot and cabling.
K 5503 (SC November 05): Ultra low noise, low distortion design.
Drives high and low impedance headphones. Dual headphone outputs provided. Delivers 300mW into 32. For stand-alone headphone amplifier use we recommend
the K 5501 power supply for optimum performance.
K 5504 (SC April 06): This board allows infra red remote control of both volume
level and input selection. LED indicators are provided for each input. Motorised volume control pot included.

12V 20 Watt Amplifier Module Kit

(SC May 2010) Amplifiers which run from
12V dc generally dont put out much
power and they are usually not hi-fi as
well. But this little stereo amplifier ticks the
power and low distortion boxes. With a
14.4V dc supply, it will deliver 20 watts per
channel into 4 Ohm loads at clipping while
harmonic distortion at lower power levels
is typically less than 0.03%.
