Brochure
Description: I drew inspiration from the letters in the
Harry Potter movies and designed
a brochure that would give the
readers the feel of recieving
and reading a letter from Hogwarts.
Process: I mainly used InDesign to put this together. I
took the measurments from the
drawing I did to give me the
guidelines, I then used those
guidelines to place the pictures
and the text in a way that would
line up when folded.
Message: Be excited to come
to The Wizarding World of Harry
Potter
Audience: Families with children
Top Thing Learned: Your
printer might not always print
what is on the screen exactgly
the way it lines up.
Stationary
Description: This is a letterhead that I made for my own
business Quiet Bear Productions.
The Idea is that I would write
up a letter or memo, or invoice,
or whatever on this page and
give it to employees, patrons,
or other busnisses.
Process: I used InDesign and
Illustrator to create this.
First I used Illustrator to create the logo. Here, I used the
pen tool to trace a picture of a
bear, then I took text and made
it part of the logo. I then
took this png image and applied
it in InDesign where I put it at
the top, and also turned it into
a water mark.
Message: We let our work
speak for itself.
Audience: Employees, patrons,
and other busnisses.
Top Thing Learned: When in
doubt, the pen tool is your
friend, if you know how to use
it wisely

Business Card
Description: This is a business card that I made for my own
business Quiet Bear Productions.
Process: I used InDesign and
Illustrator to create this.
First I used Illustrator to create the logo. Here, I used the
pen tool to trace a picture of a
bear, then I took text and made
it part of the logo. I then
took this png image and applied
it in InDesign where I put it as
the pain part of the card with
what we offer as well. Then on
the front side, I gave it a
blue background.
Message: We let our work
speak for itself.
Audience: Employees, patrons,
and other busnisses.
Top Thing Learned: When in
doubt, the pen tool is your
friend, if you know how to use
it wisely

Montage
Description: This is a family
tree
Process: I took the background image, then used a mask
and brush tool to have the other images come into the picture.
This was particularly tricky
when it came to the image at the
top left because I had to put
three different images together
to create that. I had to make
sure that they were all lined up
and the same size as I was using
the mask and brush tool. I then
added text having it fade in the
background.
Message: The Bowes family
Legacy
Audience: The Bowes family.
Top Thing Learned: How to use
the mask and brush tool together to get really good results, I
also applied this same technique
to the picture you see in the
background of this portfolio.

Imagry
Description: A book cover
Process: First, I took the
picture as part of a photoshoot.
I then had to select this particular picture from all of the
others and upload it into Photoshop. I added some filters and
used some effects to get the image that you now see. I then
cropped it to the size of the
book cover.
Message: This book is a love
story.
Audience: People who like
love stories.
Top Thing Learned: Photoshop

Event Ad
Description: This is an event
ad that I created for my Bluegrass director to advertise the
upcoming Christmas concert.
Process: I used InDesign. I
traced pictures of the various instruments using the pen
tool. Then, through the use of
the pen, line, and circle tools,
I was able to turn the bass into
a tree and then decorate it.
Again using the pen and rectangle tools, I was able to wrap
the other instruments that were
gathered around the bass.
Message: This is going to be
a fun concert.
Audience: People who enjoy
bluegrass and Christmas music.
Time spent: about 2.5 hours
