Energy Optimisation in recovery of CO2 through Gas Permeation Technique. (ongoing)
1) Recent research studies have shown a critical comparison of Energy between dense polymeric
Membrane Capture processes & Amine Absorption for CO2 capture.
2) I am working on the simulation of Membrane Capture process and Optimizing the Energy
requirement for the process

Course Projects :
Simulation of Distillation , Absorption and Adsorption columns in Aspen Plus
1) Sensitivity analysis was done to understand the effect of Flow rates , Design parameters for
Absorption , Distillation and Adsorption columns.
2) Simulated results were able to observe our theoretical findings for all the columns .

Effect of particle size on contact angle of Polystyrene particles by gel trapping

1) Polystyrene particles of mono dispersed and mixed sized range particles were taken for analysis
of contact angle.
2) Gel trapping technique was carried out and with the help of Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
contact angle was measured and the effect was observed.

Design of Blade of Wind turbine

1) Wind readings were taken and Rayleigh and Weibull distributions for used for fitting the data
which was taken over a 48 hour period .
2) The theoretical design of blade was done to produce power considering the factors of wind
velocity and time variations .

Summer Intern at Madras Cements Ltd, TamilNadu , India .

(May June, 2013)

1) Mathematical simulation check was done to verify the Mass & Heat balances of process
equipment's.
2) The mathematical simulation was able to capture 98% of the observed results.
3) The efficiency of different process equipment such as Clinker Cooler , Ball Mill and Raw Mills
was calculated and suggestions were given to increase the efficiency.

Part of a 4 member team that was assigned the task to sell the club membership to IIT

Headed a team of 17 volunteers to create audio CDs for visually challenged children to help them in
academics. Visited the St Louis School for the Deaf and Blind and helped the blind children in making Braille
