Voice Deep Dive Workbook

Version 3.5

Module 14

Device Mobility & Extension Mobility - What

They Have in Common and When To Use
Each :: Tasks
Lab Instructions:
Prior to starting this lab, ensure that you have both read through the Voice Rack Rental Guide
before beginning this lab, so that you are fully aware of how all equipment works and is
accessed, and that you have loaded both the initial router/switch configs from INEs members
site, and that you have manually loaded the CUCM initial configs as described below.

Note
- Most Deep Dive lab scenarios require existing configuration before they can begin to be
configured. Also, most lab scenarios use different pre-configuration from other Deep Dive
labs. Therefore it is necessary to load the "Startup Configs" prior to beginning any of these lab
scenarios.
- To load your router and switch configs, first log into your INE.com Members account, then
navigate to the "Rack Rental" tab, and click on "Control Panel" >> "Click here to choose a
configuration to be loaded on your Voice Rack", then choose the appropriately named
selection for this module. This will only load your router and switch configs (pstn, r1, r2, r3,
sw1, sw2).
- To load your CUCM server initial configs, please log into the CUCM Admin WebUI, and use
the Bulk Administration tool to upload & import the appropriately named DD-ModXXCUCM-Startup.tar" file that was included in your Members account for this module. Here are
two brief demonstration videos on how to successfully accomplish this upload and import into
CUCM: Importing or Exporting Configurations in CSV file from CUCM (15 mins), and Fixing
Any Issues That May Arise With Importing CSS and CdPTP & CngPTPs (8 mins).

Module 14

14.1 Device Mobility - Movement Between Sites and Within a Country

Provision Jack's Phone - CorpHQ Phone 1 - to be able to pickup and move his physical
IP Phone to the Branch 1 Site
Ensure that when he arrives and attaches his IP Phone to the Branch 1 subnet, that he
takes on all the characteristics of the Branch 1 Phone Device Pool "DP_Branch1Phones"
o For the live & recorded Deep Dive class, we will use the exact same subnets
that CorpHQ and Branch 1 sites have connected to them respectively:
CorpHQ Subnet: 177.1.11.0 /24
Branch 1 Subnet: 177.2.11.0 /24
o For your self-study using this workbook - where you have remote (hopefully
hardware) IP Phones connected via Cisco EzVPN, temporarily discontinue the
use of DHCP for all CorpHQ Phone1 settings, and manually configure IP
Address, Default Router, and TFTP Address, using the following subnets:
CorpHQ Subnet: 192.168.10.150 /32
Branch 1 Subnet: 192.168.10.160 /32
(These Self-Study subnets will be represented in the downloadable
solutions CSV file for CUCM for this DD Module)
Ensure that while Jack's CorpHQ Phone 1 is visiting the Branch 1 site, that all of the
following work properly:
o Ensure that Jack retains his Class of Restriction and that all calls still show up
as coming from "1001" and "Jack Shepherd"
o Ensure that Jack's phone reflects the proper Date & Time
o Ensure that VoIP calls back to CorpHQ Phone 2 use the G.729 codec
o Ensure that MMoH streams properly to his phone
o Ensure that if he attempts to setup a conference, that local Branch 1 router
hardware resources are utilized
o All calls that he attempts to make are to go out the Branch 1 gateway primarily.
Calls to 911 should only be allowed to go out the Branch 1 gateway.
Jack's dialing habits should not be required to change in any way
e.g. If Jack currently dials Nationally to reach PSTN phones that happen
to be in the Branch 1 Geographic/Area Code, such as "9 1 512 602
6222", he should still be able to do so
o Ensure that if the Branch 1 site were to loose WAN connectivity, that his
CorpHQ Phone 1 would fallback to the Branch 1 SRST router
o Ensure that if the Branch 1 site's Locations-based CAC were to report "Not
Enough Bandwidth", that AAR would be invoked and function properly
o Ensure that calls made into Jack's phone display in the same manner that they
do to every other phone at the Branch 1 site
e.g. A call from the PSTN Phone Line 1 should display to Jack's phone
as: "12065015111", however a call from the PSTN Phone Line 2 should
display as: "5126026222"

14.2 Device Mobility - Movement Between Sites and Between Countries

Provision Jack's Phone - CorpHQ Phone 1 - to also be able to pickup and move his IP
Phone to the Branch 2 Site
Ensure that when he arrives and attaches his IP Phone to the Branch 2 subnet, that he
takes on some of the characteristics of the Branch 2 Phone Device Pool
"DP_Branch2-Phones"
o Again, for the live & recorded Deep Dive class, we will use the exact same
subnets that CorpHQ and Branch 2 sites have connected to them respectively:
CorpHQ Subnet: 177.1.11.0 /24
Branch 2 Subnet: 177.3.11.0 /24
o Again, for your self-study using this workbook - where you have remote
(hopefully hardware) IP Phones connected via Cisco EzVPN, temporarily
discontinue the use of DHCP for all CorpHQ Phone1 settings, and manually
configure IP Address, Default Router, and TFTP Address, using the following
subnets:
CorpHQ Subnet: 192.168.10.150 /32
Branch 2 Subnet: 192.168.10.170 /32
(These Self-Study subnets will be represented in the downloadable
solutions CSV file for CUCM for this DD Module)
Ensure that while Jack's CorpHQ Phone 1 is visiting the Branch 2 site, that all of the
following work properly:
o Ensure that Jack retains his Class of Restriction and that all calls still show up
as coming from "1001" and "Jack Shepherd"
o Ensure that Jack's phone reflects the proper Date & Time
o Ensure that VoIP calls back to CorpHQ Phone 2 and Branch 1 Phone 1 use the
G.729 codec
o Ensure that MMoH streams properly to his phone
o Ensure that if the Branch 2 site were to loose WAN connectivity, that his
CorpHQ Phone 1 would fallback to the Branch 2 SRST router
o All calls that he attempts to make are to go out the Branch 2 gateway primarily.
911 calls should only be allowed to go out the CorpHQ gateway - even if this
isn't totally the desired functionality.
Jack's dialing habits should not be required to change in any way
e.g. If Jack currently dials Internationally to reach PSTN phones that
happen to be in the Branch 2 Country and Geographic/Area Code, such
as "9 011 31 20 703 7333", he should still be able to do so
o AAR does not need to function properly
o Ensure that calls made into Jack's phone display in the exactly as they would as
if he were back at his CorpHQ site

14.3 Extension Mobility

Provision Eloise with the ability to travel to either the CorpHQ or Branch 2 sites and,
while there, login to the Phone 2 at either of these sites
Ensure that while Eloise is visiting the CorpHQ or Branch 2 site, that all of the following
work properly:
o Ensure that Eloise retains her Class of Restriction and that all calls still show up
as coming from "2001" and "Eloise Hawking"
o Ensure that the phone Eloise is logged into reflects the proper Date & Time
o Ensure that VoIP calls to any other site, other than the one she is visiting, use
the G.729 codec
o Ensure that MMoH streams properly to her phone
o Ensure that if the Branch 2 site were to loose WAN connectivity, that the phone
Eloise is logged into would fallback to the Branch 2 SRST router
o Eloise's dialing habits must adjust to the site that she is local to. For example:
To get secondary dialtone and an outside line, she must:
Dial "9" while at either of the two US sites
Dial "0" while at the Branch 2 site
To dial Nationally, she must:
Dial "1" while at either of the two US sites
Dial "0" while at the Branch 2 site
To dial Internationally, she must:
Dial "011" while at either of the two US sites
Dial "00" while at the Branch 2 site
o AAR must function properly while she is logged in any of the three sites
o Ensure that calls made into Eloise's phone display in the exactly as they would
as if he were back at his CorpHQ site
Since Eloise will be the only person traveling to these two sites and logging into these
two remote phones, configure a way so that at any phone she goes to login to, she
only has to press one button on the phone to login
Ensure that Eloise has the ability to log out of any phone without any assistance, and
that when she does, that the phone she was logged into goes back to operations just
as if she had never been there. Also ensure that when she returns home to her Branch
1 Phone 1, that she is able to login to that phone.
If Eloise forgets to log out of a phone she visits, automatically log her out after 10 hours
Allow Eloise to log into multiple phones, however if she logs into a phone, while still
being logged into another phone, ensure she is automatically logged out of the
previously logged-in phone
When she logs out of a phone, automatically clear all of the call history records

Configure the CUCM server such that, regardless of what site Jack's CorpHQ Phone 1
happens to physically located, or what site that Eloise's user happens to be logged into
a phone at, that all calls destined to PSTN numbers where the company has a local
gateway, go out of each site's respective local gateway:
o PSTN calls to the Seattle, WA, US Country & Area Code of "1206" go out the
CorpHQ gateway
o PSTN calls destined to the Austin, TX, US Country & Area Code of "1512" go
out the Branch 1 gateway
