We the parishioners of Saint Michael the Archangel, through leadership and strong traditions are
faithful disciples of the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church. We commit ourselves to
be generous stewards of our faith, our parish, and our community. We strive to involve all members
to be united in one parish family for the salvation of all.
Notes from the Pastor Back to Church for Christmas!
It is getting more exciting as Christmas draws nearer. We will be back in the church finally for our
liturgical celebrations for the first time on Monday, December 22 for the 7AM Mass, and then on
Christmas Eve and Christmas. We still have our mass on Sunday, December 21 at the hall. So that we
can use our new confessional that Monday, we will bless it that Sunday after the 10AM mass. Those
who can stay are asked to join us in the blessing and a tour of our newly renovated church. Right after
that we will start decorating our church for Christmas. Those who can also help are very much welcomed to stay. It is indeed a great blessing to be able to celebrate our liturgies at the church itself. I
could feel that in the four months that we are in the hall, we all miss the church! The feeling is like we
are in exile and now we are going home. It is indeed a very exciting and joyful experience.
Reflecting on this situation, it really gives us a very important message and an opportunity for renewal.
While we are at the hall our church is undergoing a physical renewal. This is an image of our Parish
Community. After 50 years of the church construction, many of its parts need to be repaired and improved. It is no different from our parish community as people. More than 50 years as parish community, as the living church we also need to be renewed, a non-stop spiritual repair and improvement a
spiritual renewal. If our building needs improvement much more is our spiritual life. We will be
thanking God for the first mass celebrated on this church building on December 19, 1964, may we be
able to renew as well spiritually and become more mature in our faith!
Handicapped Parking and Entrance!
One of our goals in the renovation of the Church is to make it handicapped friendly. Please take note
of the following changes: the side door at the west side of the church is our handicapped entrance;
there is an automatic door switch to open and hold the door for a few minutes so those in walkers and
wheel chairs could easily enter; the pews are newly refinished and upholstered -you will notice the

front pews are shortened to widen the communion area and

also to give more space for communion especially when
there is a coffin at funerals and for weddings; the cut space
can be used for those with wheelchairs and walkers; there is
an additional space for the handicapped at the western side
of the church closer to the handicapped entrance. Because it
is on the western door, our handicapped parking is moved to
the western side of the parking lot right at the western corner
of the back of the Church. The eastern corner will no longer
be handicapped parking as there is a slope from the parking
space to the walkway of the church. We will also be marking two handicapped parking spaces on the driveway close to
the handicapped entrance.
Thank You To the Altar Society for their Donation
The central and most important part in our altar is the tabernacle that holds the body and blood of Christ! As we improve our church the tabernacle also needs refinishing. We
sent it to IDonnelly, a catholic supply store in Kansas City,
MO for refinishing. With the size of our tabernacle and its
gold and satin finish, we are charged $1,900.00 for its restoration. The Altar Society gave us $1,000.00 for that purpose
and we are very grateful. Thank you ladies for all that you
do for the parish. God bless you!
A Blessed 3 Year Anniversary for the Meals In His Name
Congratulations to our Meals In His Name for its third year
anniversary on Dec. 15th. It is indeed a great blessing from
God as this ministry is able to provide food for the community. We thank Marita and Doug Lopeman for their

with set-up, cooking serving, and clean up duties. God bless you
all for your undertaking!
RSVP for the Anniversary Banquet
Once more you are reminded that on January 4th, first Sunday of
the new year, we have only one mass and that is at 10AM.
There is no 5:30PM mass on January 3rd. The mass at 10AM
will be presided by our bishop to celebrate the golden anniversary of the Churchs construction. After the mass will be a reception banquet at the hall. You will find at the entrance an
RSVP form for you to fill up if you are coming to the banquet so
we can closely estimate the amount of food to prepare. There is
a drop box at the entrance for you to put your filled-up form. I
am encouraging all of you to please come to this once in a lifetime celebration. We might not be here anymore for the next 25
years to celebrate its diamond (75th) anniversary! Please come
and RSVP!
