Projects Online Urdu Handwriting Recognition System (M.S. Thesis) Carried out the recognition
of full-width and half-width Urdu characters. After data acquisition, data was preprocessed,
some novel features were extracted and were used for training/designing and testing of classi-
fiers. Different combinations of methodologies and classifiers were tested to figure out the best
combination for Urdu handwriting recognition. The major achievement was improvement of
recognition accuracy from 93% to 96%.
Implementation of Communication Trainer (B.S. FYP) Various communication modules like
modems (AM, FM, PWM, ASK, QPSK, FSK), Frequency Synthesizer, Function Generator,
Active Filters and Power Supply were simulated for circuits finalization. Selected circuits were
then implemented on PCB. Lastly user interface was designed. The major achievement was
cost reduction to almost 1/10 times as compared to similar kits available in the market.
• Developed a Prototype Handwriting Recognizer for Mobile Phones/PDAs using MATLAB.
• Developed a Prototype System for Infrared Computed Tomography for Image Reconstruction.
• Oil Spill Detection in the SAR Images using Morphological Techniques.
• Water flow rate, Level and Temperature control of a Three Tank Control System using PLC.
• System Identification using Step, PRBS, and Chirp Signal Responses.
• A Cascaded Control Mechanism was Designed to Control the Temperature of a Water Tank
(primary process), by Controlling the Speed of Fan (secondary process) using C/C++.
• Simulation and Hardware Implementation of Simple as Possible (SAP) Computer.
