Creating Merchandising Category Hierarchy and

Characteristic. Display Hierarchy.

Task A: Create Merchandising Hierarchy Level

Logistics ->Retailing ->Master Data ->Material Group Data -> Merchandise Category Hierarchy Level ->Create (CLWM)
Enter Name of Hierarchy Level in Text Box and press Enter from key board.

Enter the Basic Data and save it.

Task B: Create Merchandising Category
Logistics ->Retailing ->Master Data ->Material Group Data ->Merchandise Category -> Create (WG21) Enter name of
Merchandise Category and press Enter from Key Board.
Enter Category Description. You will notice field MG Hierarchy Level where you may specify Merchandising Hierarchy Level
where category belongs to. *Other way to create Hierarchy assignment. (WG21)*You may specify MG Hierarchy Level in
first screen itself which will reflect automatically into next screen. Press Enter to see value into next screen. You can see

the difference under Hierarchy Assignment Tag where you will notice that Hierarchy Level assignment detail.
Task C: Assigning Merchandising Hierarchy Level
Logistics ->Retailing ->Master Data ->Material Group Data -> Hierarchy Assignment -> Merchandising Category Hierarchy
Assignment -> Create (CLW1)
Type your Hierarchy Level Name and press Enter. You will notice next screen.
Type nodes of your Hierarchy under class node and press save button to save settings. You keep on adding numbers of

nodes in each hierarchy level till merchandise category.

Task D: Creating Characteristics
Logistics ->Retailing ->Master Data ->Material Group Data -> Merchandise Category -> Create (WG21)
Enter name of Merchandise Category and press Characteristics button on application tool bar to go to next screen.
You will see new screen "Change Merchandise Category".
Click on Char tab to display fields.
Type the name of characteristic under Char column which will pop new window to enter value for created characteristic.
Press Yes to continue.. It will redirect to new screen of Create Characteristic. Type following Details to continue..

Data Type Format:_______
Number of Chars:______
Click on Value tab to add values against that characteristic

Enter Name and Description to respective column. Press Save button to continue;
Task E: Hierarchy Display
Logistics ->Retailing ->Master Data ->Material Group Data -> Environment -> Classification System ->Hierarchy Display

Enter name of the highest hierarchy level, mark the check box Graphical Display and Execute transaction to display.
Go to your MG Category Node to see Characteristic and further drill down. You will get details of Characteristics Value.
