Study Attitudes of the Respondents

Table 2 shows the mean score for each item number with their equivalent verbal interpretation.
The grand mean score in twenty five items on the study attitudes of the respondents was 3.85. This
grand mean score revealed that most of the respondents agree on the different study attitudes.

Furthermore, the highest mean score was 4.54 on item number 1 of the study attitudes of which
they strongly agree that Reading is fun if I can discuss with friends. The lowest mean score was 3.23
on item number 11 of which they are uncertain on the study attitude I dont know what to read.

Relationship Between Respondents Age and their Reading Preferences

The Chi-square computed value in table 3 is 3.518963 and the computed p-value is 0.62052
greater than the significance level of 0.05 with a degrees of freedom of 5, therefore accept the null
hypothesis. There is no significant relationship between the respondents age and their reading
preferences.

The Chi-square computed value in table 4 is 25.06633 and the computed p-value is 0.00014 less
than the significance level of 0.05 with a degrees of freedom of 5, therefore we reject the null
hypothesis. There is a significant relationship between the respondents gender and their reading
preferences.
