1. Introduction

1.1 Company Background


PRYMAX TECHNOLOGIES SdnBhd (PRYMAXTECH) is wholly owned Malaysian
bumiputera company and was incorporated in 2007. Established as one of the
organization of WadahLapan Group of Companies which focus more on ICT scope
services.

area of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The management of

NEW PRODUCT IDEAS

2.1 Technical Aspect: Main Product/Future Product


Nowadays, laptop cooler is an accessory for laptop computers that helps reduce
their operating temperature, which is normally used when the laptop is unable to
sufficiently cool itself. Laptop coolers are intended to protect both the laptop from
overheating and the user from suffering heat related discomfort. A cooling pad may
house active or passive cooling methods and rests beneath the laptop. Active
coolers move air or liquid to direct heat away from the laptop quickly, while passive
methods may rely on thermally conductive materials or increasing passive airflow.
The problem of a normal laptop is still not serve the purpose, because the laptop is
still easily get hot. This news technology product provide counter for this problem.
With the combination of a normal cooler fan and Power Supply Unit (PSU) cooler
can provide maximum cooling for the laptop.

1) Main product
Currently the main product about the cooler fan pad to serve the purpose of cooling
the laptop. By using a normal fan which blow a normal air. A normal fan whether
blows or casual still can cause heat to the laptop. An expensive fan or a perfect fan
must be used for a certain type of the laptop.

2) Future Product
After the development of this product, the future product planning is to expand the
possibility of cooling the laptop by using the air-conditioning cooling PSU. Airconditioning PSU or known as the Liquid Cooling PSU will be combining with the
normal fan to produce air-conditioning for the laptop.

3. JUSTIFICATION OF IDEAS
3.1 Understanding the product
Just as it is not feasible to have students stand in line to share learning tools such as
a pencil, paper, notebook, book, etc, it also doesnt make sense for them to share a
laptops. Students often need to work at their own pace in their own way. Laptops
become a students assistant for thinking, drawing, writing, reading, analyzing,
calculating, connecting, collaborating, producing, researching, presenting, and more.
There for laptop is important in daily use not just students but most of the population
use laptops. Without proper care of the laptop, the laptop can defective. Most of the
laptop lifetime can be reduce to half if the laptop is not on proper care. By the means
of proper care, it is majority from the problems of laptop heats.

3.2 Degree of innovation


Based on the analysis, the point of view founded that there is a defects on the
normal cooler fan. The normal cooler fan not fully contributes on serving the purpose
of cooling the laptop. The expensive fan cooler can cool the laptop, but still not
contribute to the purpose. Heat can cause uncomfortable to the user. Basically heat
is the root of the broken laptops. In order to create the new cooling fan which serve
the purpose of countering the laptop heat, this project come up with more effective
way and a very own criteria.

3.3 Core Technologies


Liquid cooling is superior to air cooling its simple physics. Liquid PSU coolers are
quieter and more effective than stock CPU heat sink fans. Theyre completely selfcontained, with no filling or maintenance needed, and installation is straightforward.

DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

4.1 Recognition of the Opportunity


Everyday new technology is being develops to help people to assist them in their
daily life. We also likes to help people in many ways, that this project intends to
make new product. There are a lot of problem arise, and the problem that this project
going to solve are a normal heat cooler fan itself.

4.2 Idea Formulation


This projects groups are specialized in this development type of products and
analysis have been performed. Research about the air-conditioning fan product has
been thoroughly calculated. This project would build an air-conditioning fan that
serve the purpose of cooling the laptop.

4.3 Problem Solving


The opportunity arises for this product because the group that in charge of this
product will be the first to have exposed such as unique product on the market.
These key features will be of high value to the customer because the product takes
charge of essential everyday task that occur at every time of their day. Normally,
people use their laptop when they want to do their work. But for gamers they play a
lot of games that use the high level graphical interface which can cause an
excessive heat. This heat can cause apply swelling or inflammation hand muscles.

4.4 Prototype Solution


The prototype of this new product is more different in shape, much bigger can be
customized, using power point (electric plug), based on new technology, because
this product serve the purpose of the user by following the trends of laptop use.

4.5 Commercial Development


Todays successful companies have the one thing in common, share a passion for
understanding and satisfying customer needs in well-defined target markets. These
companies are strongly customer focused and heavily committed to marketing. A
target market is a group of customers that business has decided to aim its marketing
efforts and ultimately is merchandise towards. A well-defined target market is the first
element to a marketing strategy. The marketing mix variables of products, place
(distribution), promotion and price are the four element of a marketing mix strategy
that determined the success of a product in the marketplace. Target markets are
groups of individuals that are separated by distinguishable and noticeable aspects.

1) Geographic
A geographic target market can be consumers in a city, state or country. The
working or studying location of a person may affect their lifestyle. People who work in
the office and studying in most universities more exposed to latest technology. Airconditioning fans cooler can be design to encourage the user to have the special
feeling while they are on their laptop without having heat problem.
2) Demographic or Socioeconomic
A demographic or socioeconomic target market would focus on specific gender, age,
group, income level or education in dividing interest on any product. Based on the
interview with several people, some of them find the air-conditioning fan would be
very helpful to them, and other prefer not to.
3) Psychographic
A psychographic target market would be a market that has similar attitudes, values
or lifestyle. There are differences between people who follow trends of technologies
and not. People who was in IT trends find it is very interesting and important to make
a better lifestyle while others just use institution or company decide

4) Product Related
Product related segmentation a target approach for customer who already own a
specific product. For example, the product can be useable for people who owns
shopping mall and office building. Determine a target market approach to sales has
many benefits. It can create a more specific marketing campaign, increase the sales
and decrease the number of competitors in the market.

5. Designing Process
5.1. Idea Concept Stage
Basic concept the easiest way to understand PSU is to think as the source of airconditioning device and the fans as the blower of the cool air to the laptop. Normal
laptop cooler is an accessory for laptop computers that helps reduce their operating

method is what the product is used which is where PSU will produce the cool air and
the fan is used to push the cool air to the surface below the laptop. Because of the
cooling method that is used the product is called Aircon-cooler.

5.1.1 Deliverables
1. Performance
This product has great integration between PSU that has been placed into a box and
a fan blower for the maximum boost of the cool air.

2. Customization
Customization of the product will be great if the user can use their own PSU which is
cheaper and affordable.

3. Easy to use
User of the product just needs to plug in the power supply to a power point and
switch on the power button. With that, user can experience the laptop is cold and
would not cause heat to the laptop.
4. Cost
This new products are being sold in customer order depending on the customer
choice. The aircon-cooler is also in a reasonable price which is in the range RM300
to RM500 (maximum) depending on their type of PSU. This price is considerately
cheap because customization of the products, a normal PSU can cost until RM600.
This aircon-cooler which built in with user customization PSU can cost until RM500
only.

These have immediate application in all kinds of situation and mostly preferred for
those who use laptop most of the time.

5.3 Project Stage


5.3.1 Marketing

5.4. Project- Product Launch


5.4.1 Commercialization
The main reason for this product is because of customer disappointment on the
current products. This product would provide customer satisfaction. The current
products only provide the blow of air from the surrounding. This method does not

provide the purpose of cooling the laptop, it only points the air from surrounding to
the below surface of the laptop. This latest product provides an air conditioning of the
laptop. Using the same concept of the normal fan cooler but with integration with air
conditioning. Aircon-cooler would have a PSU that produce a cool air and the fan will
blow the air to the surface below laptop.
5.4.2 Demonstration
Demonstration and presentation to potential customer will be performed to satisfy the
customer need. The goals of this strategy are to introduce customers to the
products. With this gentle approach of getting them to purchase and spread the
products around the world.

ISSUES AND CONSTRAINT


Limitation of the project as below:
1. The source of the power is used on the power point (electric), there would be
a complication if the place had no power point.

2. The size and weight that quite big and heavy, it is not suitable to carry
anywhere and any place
3. The use of power supply can cause the electrical bill increase

Issues that needed to be solved listed below:


1. The PSU size is too big the air in the box cannot be circulated.
2. There is switch to control the temperature, cool air can cause humidity. Too
much humidity can cause the components to rust.
3. The gap between below of the laptop and the fan is too close, the fan cannot
blow the air because of the air is already congested.

Solved issues listed below:


1. The size of the box is switch into a larger box, the air can be circulated by that
method.
2. The switch control is installed to control the temperature of the cooler and
prevent rust.
3. The gap between the surface below the laptop and the fan is increased to
avoid congestion of air in the gap.
