The first official VJB vintage was Dante, a blend of his brother’s
favorite varietals – Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. By the 2000
harvest, Dante became the pillar of VJB Cellars’ wine portfolio. Today,
Dante is an 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and a 15% Sangiovese blend, a
well-balanced wine rich in sumptuous texture and red spices. Dante is
in good company. VJB’s wine lists boast a diverse selection of artisan,
award-winning varietals perfect for holiday dinners or those quiet
moments and are sold exclusively from the popular Tasting Room in
Kenwood.
VJB Cellars, under Henry’s careful direction, has grown in less than
10 years to be a locals and tourist destination, a true source of wine
country hospitality. Guests are often referred to VJB Cellars Tasting
Room because Henry and Winemaker make great Italian varietals.
Chilled Tocai, sparkling Prosecco, and big fruit reds like Sangiovese,
Metepulciano, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon delight educated and
novice palates alike. And given the Italian love affair with espresso, the
gourmet coffee bar can’t be beat!
Without question, Henry’s motivation, his very reason for breathing
is his family. His wife. Their children. His parents. And certainly his irre-
placeable brother, Victor. It is because Henry’s foundation is rooted
solidly in his blood, this Sonoma earth, and in his family’s wines that VJB
Cellars is a keystone of the Sonoma Valley wine industry.
Henry sees to it that your visit to VJB Cellars and the wines in your
glass are equally memorable, delicious and unique. VJB wines are hand-
crafted, each vintage to be enjoyed this holiday season with your loved
ones, in honor of family, or simply in celebration of tonight. Henry
makes sure of that. Every drop of VJB wine is infused with his Belmonte
heritage and pride in family, friends and good food.
So hang some twinkle lights, decorate your tree, light a fire and cele-
brate your loved ones. Raise a glass or pour yourself another and enjoy!
VJB Cellars Tasting Room is located at 9077 Sonoma Highway, in
Kenwood and is open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information,

CANDLELIGHT INN
Peaceful Elegance in the Napa Valley
by Abigail P. Zimmerman
The Candlelight Inn epitomizes the elegance and true romance of
Napa Valley.
Built in 1929 by the Napa postmaster, this graceful English tudor-
style mansion is particularly geared to guest’s intent on enjoying a
special time in a memorable place.
Romantic to its core, the Candlelight Inn is a beautifully preserved
element of Napa history. A grand, sophisticated estate, the Inn is at
once tranquil and stately. Driving up, it’s easy to imagine a horse and
carriage waiting or hear sounds from glittering parties past. Today, the
Inn is simply lovely, tranquil and romantic.
Carefully manicured grounds are bordered by the soothing Napa
Creek and the majestic Giant Redwoods impart shade and a natural
feeling of exclusivity. Ceilings within soar and hand-applied white-
washed plaster and blackened oak beams only add to your impres-
sions of enchantment.
Steeped in fairytale romance, warmth and comfort, guest suite inte-
riors are uniquely individual and well appointed with sumptuous
linens, floral motifs and wine country charm. Most suites boast crack-
ling fireplaces and two-person marble Jacuzzi tubs. Private balconies
or patios ensure privacy for all.
A spacious, secluded swimming pool and sets of comfortable chairs Today, the Candlelight Inn enjoys a well-deserved reputation for

Napa Valley Fine Art
New Original Works Arrive
at Art on Main, St. Helena
Art on Main announces the arrival of a number of new original works in the
gallery by well known landscape artists Erin Dertner, Tim Howe, Pamela
Anderson and Napa’s own, Mel Amaral. These artists continue to delight both
new and returning collectors to the gallery. A wide spectrum of fine art
mediums including oil, acrylic, limited edition etchings and sculpture are
currently on display.
Included in the gallery is a
wide selection of “pop” animal art
by gallery favorite, Ron Burns.
Lyn Cook delights us with her
stylized horses and cat sculptures in amazing marble-like patinas. Internationally collected,
Big Sur sculptor, Loet Vanderveen, has his “Classic” animal sculpture collection available at
prices perfect for holiday gift giving.
Gifted, creative sculptor, Richard Thomas, adds a touch of fun with his “Celebration of the
Vine” series inspired by personal experiences, and a lifetime of celebrations with family and
friends.
The gallery, located at 1359 Main St. in St. Helena is open seven days a week. A selection
from each artist may be viewed on the gallery’s website at www.ImagesNapaValley.com.

“Discover Lodi!” the 4,000- square-foot facility is located on
property owned by Wine and Roses Country Inn at the north-
west corner of Turner and Lower Sacramento roads in Lodi.
The eye-catching design by Lesovsky-Donaldson Archi-
tects of Stockton has the look of an old winery and features
an impressive three-story stone tower visible from all
approaches to the property. It contains the winegrape
commission offices, state of the art wine and viticulture
educational displays, a conference room, and a “cellar room”
for entertaining and special events, such as wine dinners.
Wine-related memorabilia, books and apparel are available for
sale. Offices for the Lodi Conference and Visitor Bureau are also
on site. The Discover Lodi! center provides the opportunity to
highlight the many outstanding tourist attractions in the Lodi
area.
