Activity Time

Activities and worksheets:

This week we are going to focus on Xmas vocab. After learning the vocab we
will do a variety of worksheets. A Xmas vocab word search will help to
improve the students spelling and reading. We are also going to make a
min-Xmas booklet which the students can decorate cut out and fill in missing
words.
Crafts:
In crafts we are going to make 3D Christmas trees. The students will
decorate the tress, cut them out and put them together. We will have a
competition for the best decorated trees.
Games:
Additional games we will play will be charades, where the students act out a
flashcard, for example a snowman. We will also play musical chairs with
flashcards placed on the chairs that have to be read out when sat on.
Videos:
We are going to watch How the Grinch stole Christmas cartoon and we will
discuss the moral of the story to emphasise the idea of Christmas spirit.

New (letters/sounds/vocabulary)
Phonics
P1 Preparation

Please refer to the circle time box for the list of new vocabulary.

(T. Andy)

This week in phonics we will

review all previous blends that the
students have studied to check
that they are confident with them. I
will use games like Bingo, The
Corners Game and Relay to check
comprehension, reading and
writing skills. There will only be one
lesson this week because of the
Christmas celebrations, and this is
out last week of Phonics, but I am
confident that the students can
blend many sounds now and this
will give them a great start for
Prathom 1, where they will
continue to blend.

Maths
This week in maths we will continue to
practice ordering numbers from greatest to
smallest and smallest to greatest, and
comparing numbers using greater and
smaller and the symbols. This is a key skill
that the students will need for their exam so I
will check that they all understand it clearly.
Any students who have finished with
confidence can move onto some word
problems in the back of their maths books to
check their understanding of the vocabulary
of questions. This will be our last week of
maths, but I am confident that all students are
ready to move on.

Parent Follow Up / Useful

Websites / Homework:
The students will be given some
Maths homework. Please
encourage your child to complete
the work. Also please could you

spelling test and to practice the
new sounds in this weeks
phonics with them. Many thanks,
Teacher Mike.
