System Summary
This summary is intended to explain, in general terms, some of the possible uses and reasons for having the
recommended equipment shown in the following pages.
These pages are only meant to be a starting point, a tool to begin the design process which will give you
a better understanding of the types of components which are needed to put together a flexible and fully
functional theatrical lighting system.
If, after reviewing this information, you have further questions you are invited to contact a local Leviton
Lighting Controls Representative for further assistance in putting together a system that meets the needs
of your facility.

General Layout
This layout is recommended for a Large Proscenium stage. This Bill of Material is recommended for a
large sized Community Theatre, Professional Stage or High School.

Dimming & Control

The dimmers dedicated to the stage circuits will allow a great deal of flexibility for lighting several different
types of productions or events which may be presented in a facility of this type, while allowing for future
growth as the need arises. The difference in dimmer count between the circuits shown on the Theatre
Layout and the Bill of Material is the number of circuits being dedicated to House Lights.
The control console allows for rapid reprogramming of the system for each of the different events and the
ability to save the event setup on a disk for future access. All that is needed to recall a saved setup and cues
is to insert the disk and load the saved program. This can be extremely important for a facility that hosts several different events or productions.
The Hand Held Remote Unit allows for the flexibility of focusing lights and reviewing stage looks without
having to be sitting at the control console location. This can save a great deal of time when preparing for
a production.
The Network Protocol Converter is used for programming the House Lighting control system, which can be
programmed to control House Lights and Stage Lights allowing limited use of the Stage lighting without
access to the Control Console. It is also used to combine several different control protocols to control the
dimming system.

Power Distribution
The combination of Connectors Strips, Floor Pockets and Wall Pockets helps to maximize the flexibility of
system by providing power distribution to all areas of the stage, as well as the Front of House positions.

Fixtures & Accessories

The selection of Fixtures and Accessories provides for a versatile lighting plot using more general area
lighting while maintaining a plentiful amount of fixtures for highlighting key areas. The actual fixture
requirement, however, would depend upon the requirements of the facility.

Freight: This project is quoted F.O.B. factory, surface freight prepaid

to the jobsite. Any special delivery services (airfreight,
expedited delivery, etc.) may incur additional charges.
Engineering Services: System Check-Out, Commissioning and Training
by a Factory Authorized Engineer.

Warranty: Leviton lighting systems are warranted against defects in

material and workmanship for two (2) years from date of
shipment. Units returned to the appropriate Leviton office
will be repaired at no charge, excepting surface freight.

Factory Services: Complete sets of working drawings detailing the

equipment to be supplied, submitted for approval
prior to manufacture. Operation and maintenance
manuals provided after shipment. Working drawings
and manuals require 6 weeks for preparation after
shipment of equipment.
